Senior React Native Engineer - MOBILE ENGINEER About the Role We are looking for a Senior React Native Engineer to join an engineering team in Melbourne. In this role, you will take ownership of the flagship mobile e-commerce application, which handles high-traffic volume, thousands of concurrent transactions, and seamless user experiences daily. This is a fantastic opportunity for a developer who thrives on optimising performance, architecting scalable mobile solutions, and mentoring a talented team of engineers. Key Responsibilities Feature Development: Design, build, and maintain high-performance, reusable, and reliable React Native code for both iOS and Android platforms.Performance Optimisation: Diagnose and fix bottlenecks, optimise app responsiveness, and ensure smooth animations and rendering across a variety of devices.Architecture & Scale: Have an input in architectural direction to ensure it seamless support, rapid feature scaling and high-traffic events.CI/CD & Deployment: Maintain and improve automated mobile deployment pipelines and manage App Store and Google Play releases.Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, and Backend Engineers.Mentorship: Guide and mentor mid-level and junior engineers. Technical Skills 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3+ years dedicated to building and scaling production-ready React Native apps.Proven experience working on a high-traffic app where performance and conversion optimisation are critical.Deep understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript, state management libraries and React hooks.Solid grasp of native mobile development tools and concepts (Swift/Objective-C, Kotlin/Java).Experience implementing secure and seamless payment gateways.Strong experience with mobile analytics, crash reporting and A/B testing methodologies. Soft Skills & Location Location: Based in Melbourne with full working rights in Australia.Communication: Exceptional communication skills.Problem-Solving: A data-driven approach to solving performance issues, memory leaks, and complex state synchronisation. Bonus Points Experience with GraphQL and Apollo Client.Familiarity with Micro-frontends or Monorepo structures for mobile.Active contributor to the open-source React Native community.Backend exposure using .Net.
