What You’ll Do Join the Cisco Crosswork Hierarchical Controller application team and provide hands-on technical leadership across full-stack applications that help service providers understand, automate, and control complex IP and optical networks. Guide capabilities from architecture and implementation through production, translating operator needs into secure, scalable, and reliable software. Define platform architecture, technical strategy, and multi-release roadmaps; translate product and operational needs into clear designs and implementation plans.Design and evolve application workflows for service provider network observability and management.Improve scalability and performance across services and user interfaces through concurrency, query optimization, batching and streaming, memory and network efficiency, and rendering improvements.Strengthen security, privacy, and resilience throughout the software development lifecycle.Strengthen engineering excellence through code reviews, automated testing, quality metrics, and improvements to CI/CD and release practices across the application suite.Influence the team’s adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices and agentic workflows, while advancing AI-enabled product capabilities.Strengthen engineering excellence through code reviews, automated testing, quality metrics, and improvements to CI/CD and release practices across the application suite. Who You’ll Work With You will join a globally distributed application engineering team that builds the web experiences, APIs, shared frameworks, and automation workflows for Cisco Crosswork Hierarchical Controller, a multidomain, multivendor software controller for complex IP and optical networks. You will collaborate with Product Management, Design/UX, system and network architects, platform and DevOps engineers, quality engineering, technical support, and customer-facing teams. Minimum Qualifications A related bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience, or equivalent practical experience3+ years of hands-on Python development for backend services, with TypeScript and React experience building complex web applicationsStrong engineering expertise across distributed systems, Linux, containers, networking, security, CI/CD, and production troubleshootingHands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent platforms, and agentic engineering workflows Preferred Qualifications Proven technical leadership of complex initiatives from architecture through production, including planning, cross-team coordination, technical reviews, and mentoring.Strong full-stack and distributed-systems expertise, with depth in application scalability or modern user experiences and visualization.Experience with service-provider networking and technologies such as IP, MPLS, SR-TE, SRv6, IS-IS, BGP, Ethernet services, or optical transport.
