Job Description We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Software Engineer with expertise in Java and SQL to join our growing engineering team in Singapore. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain robust software applications while ensuring code quality and adherence to best practices. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient solutions that meet our organization's technical standards and business objectives. What will you do? Develop, test, and deploy Java-based applications and services using industry best practices and coding standardsDesign and optimize SQL queries and database schemas to ensure efficient data retrieval and storageAnalyze technical requirements and translate them into well-structured, maintainable codeConduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to maintain code qualityTroubleshoot and debug complex software issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutionsCollaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineers to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutionsParticipate in the full software development lifecycle, from design and development through testing and deploymentDocument code, technical specifications, and architectural decisions for team reference and knowledge sharing Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess: Proficiency in Java programming with a strong understanding of object-oriented principlesAdvanced SQL knowledge, including query optimization and database designMinimum 3+ years of professional software development experienceExperience with relational database management systemsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsFamiliarity with version control systems (Git or similar)Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented codeExperience with software testing and quality assurance practices Preferred Skills & Experience Experience with popular Java frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, etc.)Knowledge of software design patterns and architectural principlesFamiliarity with Agile or Scrum development methodologiesExperience developing RESTful APIsUnderstanding of database performance tuning and indexing strategiesExperience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) toolsExposure to cloud platforms or microservices architecture Additional Information We are driven by our AEIOU beliefs—Adventure, Excellence, Integrity, Ownership, and Unity—and we seek individuals who embody these values in both their professional and personal lives.
