DevOps Engineer

Our client, a leading multi-strategy hedge fund, is seeking a DevOps Engineer to play a critical role in building and maintaining a world-class technology infrastructure environment. This is a highly visible position with broad ownership across Linux infrastructure, CI/CD and DevOps tooling, software deployment, automation, platform resilience, and performance optimisation, directly supporting the firm's core trading platforms and engineering teams while driving the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of the technology stack. The ideal profile will be a DevOps Engineer with at least three years' experience in financial services, strong expertise across modern DevOps tooling, cloud infrastructure, automation, and Linux environments. The role offers significant exposure across the business, partnering with both technology teams and end users to design, maintain, and enhance resilient, scalable platforms while driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be a proactive communicator with a strong sense of ownership, capable of translating business and technical requirements into robust technology solutions within a fast-paced hedge fund environment. Responsibilities and Impact: Administer and support the firm's DevOps systems - Including but not limited to Puppet, Jenkins, GitHub, and SVNManage software compilation, deployment, and lifecycle management for the firm's core application platformsAdminister and automate the firm's Linux systems, including resource management, continuity and resiliency planning, security operations, and patching / upgrade lifecycle managementMonitor and troubleshoot core systems, identifying solutions to resolve issues and recommending changes to improve performanceSupport business and technology development teams with dependency resolution and software testing methodologies Our future colleague has these skills: Minimum 3 years' experience working in development or IT Operations for a financial services companyUniversity degree preferredHands-on experience with multiple DevOps toolsInfrastructure-as-code systems (Terraform, Puppet, etc.)CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)Source Control Management (GitHub, SVN, etc.)Scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python, etc.)Containerization Technologies (Docker, Kubernetes.)Experience with public cloud management and associated automation (AWS, Azure, etc.)Demonstrated ability to gather and translate business and technical requirements into reproducible and resilient technology systemsContinuously assess current systems and processes and recommend modifications where appropriate
