Business Analyst (Product Analyst) Reports To: Director, Delivery The Opportunity CLEARVIEW is looking for a collaborative and customer-focused Business Analyst (Product Analyst) to join our Product Development team. While many organizations call this role a Business Analyst, at CLEARVIEW we refer to the position as a Product Analyst because it is embedded within our Product organization and plays a key role in turning customer needs into successful software solutions. As a Product Analyst, you will bridge the gap between our customers, Product, Delivery, and Engineering teams. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand business challenges, discover opportunities for improvement, define solution requirements, and help guide products from concept through delivery. This is more than documenting requirements. You'll facilitate discovery sessions, refine product backlogs, define user stories and acceptance criteria, validate solutions with stakeholders, and help ensure every feature delivers measurable value to our customers. Working alongside Product Management, Project Management, and Architecture/Development teams, you'll contribute to innovative web and mobile solutions that help leading Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) brands operate more efficiently. Your ability to ask the right questions, simplify complex business problems, and translate them into actionable development work will directly influence the success of our products and our customers. Key Responsibilities Product Discovery & Solution Analysis · Partner with Product Management to explore customer problems, operational challenges, and opportunities that may inform CLEARVIEW’s product roadmap and future product capabilities. · Become a subject matter expert in CLEARVIEW’s platform ensuring requirements and proposed solutions reflect real-world operational needs. · Analyze business problems and opportunities to help define scalable solutions across CLEARVIEW’s web and mobile platforms. · Support the integration of advanced capabilities such as AI-powered chatbots, predictive analytics, and intelligent workflow automation across web and mobile platforms. · Ensure product enhancements align with business objectives, customer needs, and long-term strategic goals. Business Analysis & Customer Engagement · Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to understand operational challenges and translate them into clear business and technical requirements. · Create detailed user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications. · Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, workshops, and product discussions with both technical and non-technical audiences. · Ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions, identify gaps, and help stakeholders distinguish between the underlying business need and a proposed solution. Backlog Readiness & Delivery Support · Partner with Product Management and Delivery to translate product priorities into well-defined, development-ready backlog items. · Own the quality and completeness of requirements and supporting analysis before work enters development. · Facilitate backlog refinement with Architecture, Development, QA, and other stakeholders to establish shared understanding of requirements and expected outcomes. · Proactively identify requirement gaps, ambiguity, dependencies, risks, and unanswered questions before they become development blockers. · Support sprint planning and delivery by providing timely requirements clarification and helping teams resolve functional questions throughout development. · Participate in solution reviews, demonstrations, and validation activities to confirm delivered functionality meets agreed requirements and customer needs. Cross-Functional Collaboration · Work closely with Product Management, Development, QA, and Marketing teams to drive successful product delivery. · Support Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and stakeholder reviews. · Help ensure delivered solutions meet quality, usability, and performance expectations. · Communicate complex business requirements clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. · Build strong working relationships across teams and help create shared understanding throughout the product development lifecycle. Qualifications & Experience Required Qualifications · Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, or a related field. · Experience working within a software development or product organization. · Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience using tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira. · Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills. · Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-mapping capabilities. · Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications · Experience within the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR), retail, or hospitality technology industry. · Familiarity with UX/UI concepts and customer-centric product design. · Experience working with Generative AI tools to enhance productivity and documentation. · Exposure to defining requirements for AI/ML-enabled solutions, including conversational AI or knowledge-based systems. · Professional certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, CSPO, or Pragmatic Institute certifications are considered an asset. Position Requirements · This position is based in Fredericton, NB (Remote/Hybrid) · Flexibility to support departmental priorities and project timelines when required. · Successful completion of a criminal background check is required. · Occasional travel may be necessary for customer engagement or internal collaboration.
