Location: Toronto, ON — Hybrid (4 days/week on-site) Duration: 1 Year (ASAP start) | Extension & Conversion Possible Schedule: Monday – Friday, Core Business Hours | OT as needed Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled SRE/Cloud Platform Engineer to join a DevOps-driven engineering team at a leading North American financial institution.This is a hands-on, engineering-focused role responsible for the design, build, automation, administration, security, and operational support of enterprise Azure infrastructure and Databricks platforms.The successful candidate will be a technical expert with deep experience deploying and supporting Azure IaaS services, Windows Server environments, infrastructure automation, and Databricks platforms. You will design, build, script, automate, deploy, and support cloud platforms throughout their lifecycle — not just perform operational support. This role supports the QRM (Quantitative Risk Management) initiative, a high-visibility enterprise program focused on cloud onboarding, automation, and infrastructure buildout for LEAP/QRM projects.This is a long-term contract with extension and conversion possibilities, offering exposure to cutting-edge cloud technologies in a stable, collaborative team environment. Responsibilities Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Design, build, deploy, and support enterprise Azure cloud infrastructure environments in both Windows and LinuxBuild production-grade Azure environments from the ground up across Development, QA, Production, and Disaster Recovery platformsDeploy, configure, secure, and support Azure Databricks workspaces and supporting platform servicesAdminister Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Service, Storage, Networking, Monitoring, Backup, and Disaster Recovery solutionsDesign and implement highly available, scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architecturesTroubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, platform, networking, security, and performance issuesImplement cloud security controls, governance standards, and operational best practicesSupport cloud migration, modernization, and platform transformation initiativesDevelop and maintain operational standards, procedures, documentation, and technical runbooks DevOps, Automation & Platform Engineering Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Bicep, or similar technologiesBuild automated deployment and configuration frameworks for Azure infrastructure and Databricks platformsCreate reusable deployment templates and automated build processesBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting infrastructure deployments, platform upgrades, and configuration managementAutomate provisioning, patching, monitoring, compliance validation, disaster recovery testing, and operational activitiesDevelop PowerShell and Python automation to reduce manual effort and improve platform consistencyMaintain source-controlled deployment artifacts and infrastructure code using Git-based workflowsCollaborate with Infrastructure, Security, DevOps, Application, and Architecture teams to deliver automated platform solutions Required Skillsets Azure Cloud Engineering: Deep hands-on experience building enterprise Azure environments from scratch — IaaS, PaaS, VMs, App Service, Storage, Networking, Monitoring, Backup, DRDatabricks Platform: Deploy, configure, secure, and administer Azure Databricks workspaces and supporting services in production environmentsTerraform & IaC: Proficient in developing and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform; experience with Bicep or Ansible a plusPowerShell Scripting: Strong scripting skills for automation, deployment, configuration management, and operational tasksCI/CD Pipelines: Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform deploymentsSystem Design & Troubleshooting: Proven ability to design scalable, resilient architectures and troubleshoot complex cross-domain issuesWindows & Linux: Comfortable administering and automating both Windows Server and Linux environments in AzureSecurity & Governance: Implement cloud security controls, governance standards, and compliance best practicesGit & Source Control: Maintain infrastructure code and deployment artifacts in Git-based workflowsEngineering Mindset: Builder mentality — comfortable designing from scratch, scripting on the fly, and solving real-time problems Preferred Skillsets Exposure to Python scripting for platform automation (not mandatory)Experience hosting or supporting Java / React application environmentsFamiliarity with enterprise-scale cloud migration and modernization programsExperience with SaltStack or Ansible for configuration managementAzure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, or Databricks-specific)Financial services or regulated industry experienceExperience with monitoring and observability tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights)Knowledge of network security, NSGs, Azure Firewall, and private endpoints Education: Undergraduate Degree or Technical Certificate Certifications: Azure certifications nice to have — not mandatory About US Tech Solutions US Tech Solutions is a global staff augmentation firm providing a wide range of talent on-demand and total workforce solutions.
