Title : Senior Software Engineer – AI Infrastructure & Robotics About the Opportunity We're recruiting for a fast-growing, well-funded technology company building advanced AI infrastructure with applications in robotics and physical automation. Due to the confidential nature of this search, the company name will be shared once we've connected directly. This is an early-stage engineering hire with significant scope for ownership, technical influence, and long-term impact. The Role You'll help architect and build the core software infrastructure that supports both large-scale machine learning workflows and the deployment of intelligent robotic systems. Working across the full stack, you'll contribute to everything from research-facing tooling to production-grade systems, helping shape the company's engineering architecture as it scales. What You'll Be Doing Design and build scalable infrastructure that supports both research and production environments.Develop tooling that bridges Python-based development workflows with high-performance production systems.Improve system performance, throughput, latency, and resource efficiency.Establish engineering best practices, including CI/CD, build systems, testing, and containerisation.Build reliable, fault-tolerant software for demanding real-world applications.Collaborate closely with AI researchers and software engineers to bring machine learning systems into production. What We're Looking For 5+ years of experience developing and shipping production software with end-to-end ownership.Strong Python development skills, ideally within machine learning infrastructure or AI platforms.Bazel is a huge plusExperience with PyTorch and machine learning systems, including model deployment or MLOps.Experience designing distributed systems, scalable APIs, or backend infrastructure.Comfortable working within large, complex codebases while taking ownership of your area.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth engineering environment.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline. Nice to Have Experience with C++ or Rust.Familiarity with Docker or similar build and deployment tooling.Experience working with cloud infrastructure.Exposure to robotics, autonomous systems, or embedded software.
