Software Engineer (React/ Typescript/ AWS)

The Role We're looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer to join a team building and scaling a modern, enterprise-grade GenAI platform on AWS. This is a full-stack engineering role with a strong frontend focus, where you'll spend much of your time building intuitive, high-quality user experiences using React and TypeScript. You'll also develop backend services using ExpressJS, work with a large PostgreSQL database, and build cloud-native capabilities using AWS services including Lambda and S3. You'll be part of a team bringing AI-powered solutions into real-world enterprise environments, helping to build secure, scalable, and production-ready applications that solve meaningful business problems. What You'll Be Doing Build modern, responsive web applications using React and TypeScriptDesign scalable frontend architectures and reusable component librariesDevelop and maintain backend services using ExpressJS and Node.jsWork with a large PostgreSQL database to design, optimise, and manage data modelsBuild and integrate APIs across frontend and backend systemsDevelop serverless functionality using AWS LambdaDesign and implement storage and data workflows using Amazon S3Contribute to the design and evolution of scalable cloud-native applicationsImprove application performance, reliability, and maintainabilityImplement monitoring, logging, and operational best practicesTroubleshoot issues across the full application stackApply secure coding principles and software engineering best practicesCollaborate with engineers, designers, product stakeholders, and AI specialists to deliver high-quality What We're Looking For Strong experience building applications with React and TypeScriptExperience developing backend applications using Node.js and ExpressJSExperience working with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQLUnderstanding of API design and integrationExperience building and deploying applications in AWS environmentsFamiliarity with AWS Lambda and serverless architecturesExperience working with object storage services such as Amazon S3Strong software engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skillsUnderstanding of modern web application architecture and design patternsExperience working within Agile software delivery teamsStrong communication and collaboration skills Nice to Have Experience developing AI-enabled or data-driven applicationsExperience with AWS services beyond Lambda and S3Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code approachesExperience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processesExperience with monitoring and observability toolingUnderstanding of cloud security principles and best practicesExperience working in consulting or client-facing environmentsExposure to event-driven or distributed system architectures Please note: We offer flexible hybrid working, but candidates should be based in Northern Ireland and able to attend our Belfast office when required.
