YOUR ROLE AT SIXT You will design and build robust backend services in Java that power vehicle turnaround and fleet orchestration workflowsYou will contribute to the design and evolution of distributed, event-driven systems that operate at branch level and at global scaleYou will develop and maintain shared libraries and internal tooling that improve reliability and delivery speed across the BranchOps engineering teamYou will collaborate closely with product, operations, and engineering stakeholders to translate complex business workflows into scalable technical solutionsYou will actively integrate AI coding tools such as Claude and Cursor into your daily development workflow, helping to embed AI-assisted engineering as a standard practice within the teamYOUR SKILLS MATTER You hold a B.Tech, B.E., or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a closely related disciplineYou bring 7–9 years of hands-on experience in sophisticated engineering environments — including cloud-native application development, scalability problem-solving, and event-driven system design, ideally within a start-up or scale-up settingYou have strong, production-proven experience with Java and Spring Boot (must-have) and are confident navigating a modern microservices landscape end to endYou have designed or operated distributed systems and microservices architectures, with a clear understanding of the trade-offs that come with operating at scaleYou have a solid grasp of event-driven patterns, pub-sub models, and message brokers such as Apache KafkaYou actively use AI coding assistants — such as Cursor, Claude— to accelerate your work, while confidently recognising their limitations and knowing when engineering judgment must take precedenceWHAT WE OFFER Grow Further, Go Further Advance your skills and unlock your potential with our Education Assistance ProgramBalance Your Career Benefit from a hybrid work environment complemented by flexible working hoursFuel Your Day Great work deserves great fuel.
