Description

We are seeking a Junior HTML CSS Developer to assist with the technical presentation of our financial advisory work. In this role, you will specifically support a project for a major logistics provider in Brussels by building the front end components used to visualize complex pricing models and capital allocation data. About Blue Oak Consulting Blue Oak Consulting provides independent advisory on pricing, portfolio economics, capital allocation, and acquisition assumptions. We are not a traditional consulting firm focused on broad transformation programs or high level strategy decks. Instead, we interrogate specific commercial decisions where the financial stakes are high and the existing narrative is not sufficient. Our team looks past corporate language and P&L complexity to identify where value is leaking or capital is trapped. We work across sectors like software, manufacturing, and healthcare to test whether the assumptions behind a growth plan or an acquisition actually hold under pressure. We are a small, principal led firm where the people who do the work are the ones accountable for the results. We do not take transaction contingent fees, which allows us to be completely honest about whether the economics of a decision make sense. Our goal is to provide clarity through financial discipline and a healthy amount of skepticism. We stay through the execution phase because decisions that look sound in theory often fail when they meet real world friction. The Role This is a technical position focused on the structural and visual clarity of digital tools. Working in a fully remote capacity, you will collaborate with our financial analysts to turn data findings into clear, functional web interfaces. The work is direct and practical: you will be building the tables, charts, and layouts that help a major logistics provider understand their own financial economics. You will focus on writing clean, maintainable code that prioritizes readability and accuracy over visual flair. This role requires a disciplined approach to development, where the logic of the layout must match the logic of the underlying data. What You Will Be Doing Writing clean, semantic HTML and CSS to build data heavy web pages and dashboards. Converting visual mockups into functional components that display real time logistics and financial data. Ensuring all financial tables and charts are legible and correctly aligned across different browser environments. Testing and debugging layout issues to ensure that critical pricing information is never obscured or misinterpreted. Refining existing style sheets to improve the speed and performance of internal reporting tools. Collaborating with the technical team to ensure front end components integrate correctly with data sources. Maintaining a consistent design system that reflects the professional and analytical nature of our firm. Documenting your code clearly so that technical logic can be reviewed and maintained by other team members. What You Bring Foundational knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 gained through studies, personal projects, or internships. Basic understanding of responsive design techniques, including Flexbox and CSS Grid. A keen interest in how data is presented and a high level of comfort working with numbers and tables. Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding typography, spacing, and numerical alignment. Familiarity with version control systems like Git is helpful but not required. The ability to manage your own schedule and tasks while working in a fully remote environment. Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical choices in plain English. A curious mindset and a willingness to learn how financial modeling intersects with web development. What We Offer A permanent, full time position with a competitive salary that is attractive for an entry level professional. A fully remote work environment that allows for a high degree of autonomy. Direct exposure to high stakes financial advisory work for large scale international clients. Mentorship from senior principals who value technical accuracy and direct honesty. The opportunity to build specialized skills at the intersection of finance and technology. A workplace culture that avoids corporate bureaucracy and focuses on tangible results. Structured professional development and the chance to take on more technical responsibility as you grow. Working at Blue Oak Consulting means looking past the surface to find what is actually happening within a business. We value developers who approach their code with the same skepticism and discipline that our analysts bring to a P&L statement. You will see your work used to inform major commercial decisions, providing the clarity needed to act on complex financial data. We believe that clean code and clear interfaces are essential tools for honest advisory work.
