Help us revolutionize sports accessibility through our B2C and B2B applications! Develop high-performance features for our platform, drive initiatives, making it easier than ever to find, book, and pay for sports activities whilst contributing towards our mission "Make sports happen!" Work time: Full-time (35h/week, every second Friday off!) Planned start: Immediately Location: VIENNA, Austria Working Type: Hybrid (Office & Home Office) Your Tasks Own production reliability: build monitoring, alerting, and observability across our AWS environment so issues get caught before they reach users.Develop a system wide view of how our production systems connect end to end, and use it to identify and prioritize the highest leverage reliability improvements.Lead incident response: investigate incidents, run root cause analysis, and drive fixes that prevent recurrence. Establish and evolve our incident handling and on call practices, and participate in the on call rotation yourself.Enable teams to own the health of their own applications, their metrics, alarms, and runbooks, rather than centralizing reliability in the Platform Team.Set up structured intake for infrastructure related requests (triage, planning, proposal, delivery) to bring predictability to today's operational load.Drive automation that improves resilience and removes manual, repetitive operational work.Strengthen backup, recovery, and disaster recovery practices, and support security and compliance requirements (NIS2, GDPR).Partner closely with Platform Engineering, feeding operational reality into their platform initiatives, including CI/CD. Your Profile 8+ years in SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering in mid to large scale production systems, including experience in an environment with established SRE or reliability practices, ideally having helped build or significantly shape that environment.A proven track record of operating and reasoning about large, complex, interconnected production systems end to end, not just deep expertise in one component.Strong experience running production infrastructure on AWS.Deep, practical experience with reliability frameworks: SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and alerting strategy.Experience with relational databases (MySQL or Postgres) from a reliability and operations perspective.Solid observability background (OpenTelemetry, Grafana/Prometheus, or similar).Experience defining and running incident management and on call processes.Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably AWS CDK.Comfortable with at least two programming languages, e.g. TypeScript/Node.js, Bash, Python.Proficiency with CI/CD and deployment automation (GitHub Actions or similar).Curiosity and openness towards AI tools in your infra and ops workflow (e.g. Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar).Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English. Nice to have Hands on experience with our stack: ECS Fargate, Lambda, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, RDS MySQL.Experience coaching or enabling other teams to adopt reliability practices.Verbal communication skills in German.
