Backend Developer | Swiss RegTech | Fribourg (Hybrid) We represent a Swiss-born software product company whose platform fights financial crime inside 1,500+ banks across 80 countries. Real-time fraud detection, AML, sanctions screening and KYC, running live inside some of the most demanding regulated environments in the world. They are a fixture on the RegTech100 and AIFinTech100! This is a core backend role inside the Detect team, the group building the frontline systems that catch financial crime as it happens: AML, KYC, and real-time sanctions and embargo screening running live inside banking clients. The engineering problem is a genuine one: a Kubernetes-native, event-driven platform that has to run reliably and at scale across SaaS, on-premises and air-gapped banking infrastructure, where a missed signal has real consequences and every deployment target behaves differently. You will work across the full backend stack, designing Kafka events and REST APIs, modelling data across SQL and NoSQL stores, and building services that stay performant under real production load. What they are looking for: A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent, with 3+ years of hands-on developmentStrong Java, with the core libraries and enterprise design patterns that come from having actually shipped production softwareExperience with a production messaging system, whether Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS or AMQPComfort with Docker and Kubernetes, and a real DevOps instinct rather than a hand-off mentalityThe problem-solving depth to debug complex issues in systems you do not fully control, and the communication to work across a multidisciplinary team Hybrid: 3 days in office
