The Government Technology Agency (GovTech) seeks to transform the delivery of Government Digital Services by taking an "outside-in" view, putting citizens and businesses at the heart of everything we do. Who We Are The GovTech Anti Scam Products Team's mission is to build tech solutions to detect, disrupt and deter scammers at scale. The work spans data infrastructure, developing and deploying AI & ML to scale proactive detection, API connections to partners, as well as front-end systems for enforcement agencies. Who Are We Looking For Bring your engineering expertise and problem-solving ability to fighting scams with technology. You will deliver features that span multiple components, make sound trade-offs between speed,quality and maintainability, and take growing ownership of the systems you build. We use cloud services and open source wherever possible: AWS, React / React Native, and amix of SQL/NoSQL databases, among others. Knowing what to build versus what to reuse lets us focus on delivering value rather than re-solving solved problems. As a software engineer, you will: Build POCs and features spanning multiple components to demonstrate technological opportunities.Contribute to system architecture and design decisions, with mentorship on cross-component trade-offs.Write and review production-quality code, and expand test coverage across key workflows.Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, manage cloud deployments, and own observability for what you ship (logging, metrics, SLIs/SLOs).Participate in incident triage and resolution, escalating complex issues appropriately.Use AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate delivery, reviewing AI-generated code to the same bar as human-authored code. Requirements Must have Python, JavaScript and/or TypeScriptExperience with CI/CD & IaC setupsStrong knowledge of AWS CloudStrong knowledge of algorithms and data structuresAbility to deliver Preferred Running containers or serverless servicesBuilding high-scale, low-latency APIs and deploying scaled AI/ML solutionsData-intensive frameworks and data warehousing (e.g. AWS Glue, Spark); bonus forgraph databases (e.g. Neo4j)Event-driven and streaming architectures using SQS/SNS/EventBridge; bonus forKinesis We're here to improve how we live as a society through what we can offer as a government.
