๐Ÿš€ Software Applications Engineer | C++ | Robotics & Control Systems Interested in developing software that doesn't just run on a screen, but actually controls and interacts with complex robotic systems? We're working with an established international engineering organisation that is expanding its software team responsible for a range of advanced underwater robotic platforms. This is a hands-on software engineering role with modern C++ at its core, developing the software used to control, operate and monitor sophisticated robotic systems. You'll work close to the hardware, collaborating with engineers across software, electronics and systems to turn complex engineering requirements into reliable, real-world products. ๐Ÿ“„ The Opportunity Permanent position | Up to ยฃ65,000, depending on experienceHybrid working โ€“ typically 4 days onsite / 1 day remoteDevelop modern C++ software for advanced underwater robotic systemsWork across software, hardware and system integrationSee your software deployed onto real-world engineering platforms ๐Ÿ’ก What You'll Be Doing Developing and maintaining software for complex robotic platformsWriting high-quality, maintainable C++ for engineering applicationsBuilding software used to control, configure and monitor physical systemsIntegrating software with hardware, sensors and other system componentsDeveloping interfaces between different parts of the wider robotic systemWorking with networked and real-time dataDebugging and resolving problems across the software/hardware boundarySupporting integration, testing and deployment onto real engineering platforms ๐Ÿง  What We're Looking For Strong commercial software development experience using C++Experience developing software for physical products, equipment or complex engineered systemsGood understanding of object-oriented software design and modern development practicesExperience working with Linux and/or WindowsComfortable debugging complex software and integration problemsExperience with networking, communications or distributed software would be usefulAn engineering, computer science or related technical degree, or equivalent industry experience We're open to engineers from a range of technically complex environments, including robotics, marine technology, aerospace, automotive, defence, industrial automation, instrumentation or other hardware-focused engineering sectors.
