Senior Frontend Engineer

About the Role We're looking for an exceptional Senior Frontend Engineer who is passionate about building world-class user experiences, solving complex technical challenges, and driving business impact through technology. You'll play a key role in architecting and developing the frontend applications that power our products while helping shape technical strategy as we scale globally. As SkinSeoul continues to grow, our engineering team is building and supporting a broad range of products and experiences, including our core e-commerce platform, creator and influencer products, internal operational tools, AI-powered workflows, automation systems, and other strategic initiatives that improve customer experience and business operations. This role will contribute across multiple product areas and help build the frontend experiences that power both customer-facing and internal products. We maintain an exceptionally high hiring bar and are seeking engineers who combine deep technical expertise with strong product thinking, ownership, and leadership capabilities. Candidates with Full-Stack backgrounds are also encouraged to apply, provided their core strengths lie in frontend architecture and development Responsibility Frontend Application Development Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance, and user-centric web applications and product interfaces.Build reusable, maintainable, and well-tested frontend components, design systems, and application frameworks.Deliver intuitive, responsive, and polished user experiences across customer-facing products, internal tools, and operational platforms.Develop interfaces that support e-commerce experiences, creator and influencer workflows, internal business operations, AI-powered products, and other strategic initiatives.Ensure code quality through testing, code reviews, and continuous improvement. Frontend Architecture & Scalability Architect frontend systems capable of supporting rapid business growth and increasing product complexity.Design scalable frontend architectures, component libraries, design systems, and application frameworks.Optimize application performance, maintainability, scalability, and developer experience.Build frontend foundations that support multiple products and teams as the company scales.Evaluate and implement architectural improvements that support long-term product and engineering goals.Contribute to technical roadmaps and frontend infrastructure planning. Performance, Reliability & User Experience Continuously improve frontend performance, accessibility, reliability, usability, and overall user experience.Identify and resolve bottlenecks affecting page speed, responsiveness, conversion, engagement, and retention.Implement best practices for monitoring, testing, error tracking, analytics, and frontend observability.Ensure a consistent, high-quality experience across customer-facing applications and internal platforms.Champion mobile-first design principles and modern frontend best practices where appropriate. Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Data, AI, Operations, and Business teams to deliver impactful solutions.Translate business and user requirements into scalable technical solutions and exceptional user experiences.Partner with stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and align technical execution with company objectives.Support cross-functional projects spanning customer-facing products, internal tools, automation systems, and AI-driven experiences. Technical Leadership & Engineering Excellence Lead technical discussions and contribute to key frontend architectural and engineering decisions.Mentor engineers and help elevate the overall technical standards of the team.Promote engineering best practices, including code quality, documentation, testing, accessibility, performance optimization, and developer experience.Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence. Ownership & Product Execution Take end-to-end ownership of critical frontend applications, user experiences, and technical initiatives.Drive projects from conception, design, implementation, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and execute solutions with minimal oversight.Operate effectively in a fast-paced startup environment with a strong bias toward action and results. Requirements Minimum 8 years of professional software engineering experience.Strong experience building and maintaining production-grade frontend applications.Proficiency in modern frontend technologies such as React, Next.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, web performance optimization, responsive design, accessibility, and modern development practices.Experience integrating frontend applications with APIs and backend services.Experience with testing frameworks, CI/CD workflows, and frontend performance monitoring.Proven ability to design, develop, and scale high-performance frontend systems.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a global team environment.Experience building products from zero to one (0→1) and taking them from concept to production is highly preferred.Experience scaling products and frontend systems to support significant user and business growth is highly preferred.Previous experience as a Founder, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Technical Lead, Founding Engineer, or Engineering Leader in an early-stage startup is highly preferred.Experience building mobile-first user experiences, app-like product experiences, or cross-platform applications is a strong plus.Experience with React Native, Expo, or modern mobile application frameworks is a plus.Full-stack development experience is a plus.Experience working in high-growth startups or venture-backed companies is a strong advantage.Strong product mindset with the ability to balance user experience, technical excellence, execution speed, and business priorities.Demonstrated ownership, leadership, and entrepreneurial thinking when solving complex technical and business challenges.
