Our Tech Stack Frontend: Typescript, React (NextJS, Remix) & TailwindBackend: Typescript, Node.js (NestJS), TypeORM, GraphQL and MySQLInfrastructure: AWS and GCP ---------- Primary Responsibilities As a Backend Developer, you’ll develop and maintain our internal systems, APIs, databases, and infrastructure. Beyond implementation, we expect you to proactively identify technical issues and opportunities for improvement, raise them with the team, and propose practical solutions. Your role also includes: Work with Product and Engineering to plan and deliver product and system improvementsDesign, develop, and maintain APIs, backend services, and SQL databasesProactively identify system issues, technical risks, and areas for improvement, and recommend solutionsMonitor and optimize database, server, and application performanceInvestigate production issues, identify root causes, and improve system reliabilityBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines and AWS/GCP infrastructureMaintain appropriate access controls, backups, and recovery processesContinuously improve the maintainability, scalability, and performance of existing systems Qualifications 5+ years of professional backend development experience with Node.js (NestJS), MySQL, and TypeScriptProficient with AWS cloud services and Google Cloud PlatformProficient in RESTful API development and external service integrationsStrong experience with MySQL querying, database design, and optimizationStrong understanding of backend architecture and scalable system design, with the ability to identify bottlenecks and recommend appropriate solutions such as asynchronous processing, queues, caching, or other architectural patternsExperience with Docker and CI/CD pipelinesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAI-native and comfortable using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code for development, debugging, and problem-solvingBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience Preferred Qualifications Experience with GraphQL and TypeORMExperience with e-commerce, fulfillment, logistics, or warehouse operationsExperience with system monitoring and error-tracking toolsExperience working in cross-functional product teams What Success Looks Like In this role, success means: System Health: Keep backend systems reliable, scalable, and maintainable as the business growsPerformance Metrics: Own and continuously improve API load speed and application error rateMonitoring & Problem Solving: Establish effective monitoring and use production data, performance analysis, and load testing to identify and resolve system issuesData Integrity & Architecture: Ensure data is stored accurately, consistently, and efficiently while proactively identifying and addressing data and architecture issues ---------- About Our Team We’re a growing start-up headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, with a Philippine-based team working closely with our HQ.
