Description

About Marble Marble is fixing the youth mental health crisis by redefining what mental healthcare looks like in the AI era. Last year, 1 in 10 teens attempted suicide. At the heart of this crisis is a severe lack of access to effective care - when kids & families can't get the help they need, problems compound and preventable tragedies follow. We're fixing that by building the AI-native platform that provides affordable & timely access to truly effective care. Our platform: Brings together guardians, schools, therapists & insurers to collaborate togetherHas AI powered products for each of these stakeholders to surface the right info & give them the tools to be effectiveExtends the reach of care to support kids 24/7 through our patient companion, "Marty" We're an early-stage, fast-moving team. The people who join now will shape who we are & who we become, not just what we build but how we build. About The Role This is an early backend-leaning generalist role where you'll own truly life-changing products end-to-end. You'll work across an AI-first platform, whether that's building the school-facing product that connects students to care, the therapist product that makes clinicians more effective, Marty (our AI-powered patient companion), the revenue cycle management systems, or the internal platform & tooling that all of this is built on. You'll get to know and deeply understand our end users, and you'll partner directly with product, operations, growth, and clinical teams to ship experiences that expand access to care and elevate its quality. You'll bring strong opinions on what to build, raise the engineering bar, and help define what a thoughtful, AI-native engineering culture looks like at an early-stage company. This role is hybrid, with three days per week in our SoHo, New York City office. What You'll Do Build and iterate on Marble's core product surfaces: the school-facing product, therapist platform, Marty (our AI patient companion), payer systems, and internal toolingOwn features end-to-end — from discovery and execution through rollout, measurement, and iterationRaise the bar on AI-native ways of working: better tooling, better workflows, and thoughtfully integrated AI features for users and internal teamsEvolve the platform that underpins our product: the AI foundations, event-driven workflows, observability, pragmatic infrastructure, etc. Create internal tools and automation that reduce operational load and help the team move faster with fewer mistakesWrite clean, maintainable code, improve patterns, and push for simplicity and speedCollaborate with ops, growth, and clinical partners to understand real-world constraints and translate them into great productMentor others and help build a strong, thoughtful engineering culture Who You Are 2+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of solving hard problems with codePrior startup experience or strong desire to work at an early stage company; comfortable in a high-autonomy, high-ownership environmentAI obsessed and constantly looking to leverage the newest AI tool or workflowBased in New York and able to work from our SoHo office 3+ days per weekMission-driven and energized by solving a Bonus: Prior experience in health techExperience with Next.jsExperience with platform infrastructure — event-driven systems, internal tooling, data pipelines, or cloud infrastructure (AWS, CI/CD, Terraform)Experience with design systems, accessibility, or frontend performance optimization Why Marble Direct impact on a critical & meaningful problem, where you see that impact first-hand on a daily basisGreenfield opportunity to take ownership of & build something from the ground upSmall & experienced team that moves fast, has fun and has a culture of growth & feedbackStrong equity in an early stage company that's on track to become a unicorn Compensation Marble offers competitive compensation for an early engineering team member.
