Full-Stack Developer

Working hours: Full overlap with US business hours (Eastern time preferred; must have at least 6 hours of overlap with 9 AM – 4 PM ET) Employment type: Full-time contractor / employee (specify per candidate) Level: Mid to Senior (4+ years for Mid, 7+ years for Senior) About Project Project is about Merchant Cash Advance (MCA) and small-business lending platform which runs the full deal lifecycle end-to-end — inbound applications, underwriting, offer generation, e-signature, ACH funding and collections, syndication, and merchant/partner portals — for our own book of business and for the ISO/broker network we operate. About the role We're looking for a full-stack developer who's comfortable moving across the whole stack — PHP/Symfony on the backend, Angular on the frontend, MySQL under both — and who can pick up ownership of features end-to-end, from a Jira ticket through design, implementation, review, and deploy. Most of our work is a mix of new feature build-outs (new lending products, new integrations, new UI flows), integrations with third-party providers (bank statement parsing, credit bureaus, ACH processors, e-sign), and steady improvements to existing subsystems. There's very little green-field greenfield — you'll be reading and evolving a mature codebase. What you'll do Build and ship features across the stack — backend APIs, database schema changes, and Angular UI — end-to-end for one feature at a timeOwn the full lifecycle of what you write: design, implementation, self-review, PR review, staging QA, and production deployIntegrate with third-party vendors (bank aggregation, statement parsing, credit bureaus, identity verification, ACH processors) — read their docs, wire them into our platform, handle webhooks, and monitor for driftInvestigate and fix production issues — bad data, edge cases in the funding/collections pipeline, ACH returns, syndication payout mismatchesWrite database migrations (Liquibase) and Doctrine entities; comfortable with both ORM query builder and raw SQL where it's the right toolReview peers' PRs with substance — correctness bugs, simplifications, missed edge casesParticipate in stand-ups, planning, and design conversations (in English, over Slack + video calls) Required skills Backend 4+ years (Mid) or 7+ years (Senior) of professional PHP experience, most of it on Symfony (3.x / 4.x / 5.x)Solid Doctrine ORM — entities, repositories, DQL, query builderStrong SQL — you can read a slow query and know where to add the index; comfortable with joins across 5+ tablesExperience with async job / queue systems and idempotency patternsFrontend 3+ years of professional Angular or React experience (Angular 7+ ideal; strong Angular 2+ candidates considered)TypeScript, RxJS, reactive and template-driven forms, HTTP interceptorsComfortable reading and evolving a large Angular application (not just spinning up new pages)Database MySQL: schema design, indexing, transactions, common performance pitfallsComfortable running ad-hoc queries against a production replica for investigationExperience with a schema-migration tool (Liquibase, Flyway, Doctrine migrations, or similar)General Git, branching, PR-based code review workflowStrong written English — most communication is written (Slack, Jira, PR descriptions)Self-directed — you can take a ticket, ask the right clarifying questions, and get it to done without hand-holdingComfortable working across US business hours Nice to have Domain experience in lending, fintech, payments, or ACH processingExperience with any of our integrations: Plaid, Finicity, Ocrolus, Moneythumb, Experian / TransUnion / Equifax, Middesk, SignNow, Twilio, SendgridDocker / container basicsCI/CD experience (Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or similar)E-signature, KYC/KYB, or compliance workflow experience
