Location: Seattle, WA hybrid (3 days in-office, 2-days remote per week)

Compensation: Base salary range is $95,000 - $125,000

THE POSITION:
The Product Developer at tomboyx takes an approved seasonal concept from design sketch to pre-production approval.
This role owns everything required to turn concepts into producible, on-cost, fit-approved samples that are ready for bulk production.
This role is ideal for a seasoned product developer who can run categories independently.
You are equally comfortable holding a fit session, negotiating a cost sheet, and flagging a construction risk before it becomes a missed date.
tomboyx embraces a hybrid work model, with all roles working both remotely and onsite at our Seattle office each week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
End-to-End Product Development
Own the full product development process, receiving Design Hand-Offs and shepherding innovative products, core refreshes, and counter-development successful to a Pre-Production Hand-Off.Maintain the development calendar for all internal milestones: sample rounds, proto/fit/pre-production against vendor lead times.Own costing: negotiate with vendors/factories to hit target margins without compromising fit or quality standards.Arrange and manage 3rd party lab testing and in-factory audits and in-house testing.Flag feasibility, cost, and timeline risk to the Sr.
Designer, Production Manager, and Director of Product Design and Development with a recommended solution.Clearly communicate feedback, revisions, and approvals to vendors to vendors, moving us efficiently toward pre-production readiness.Manage development of all submits including artwork, lab dips, strike-offs, lot approvals, and fit samples based on approved standards, replenishment needs, calendar timeline and vendor capabilities.Assist in maintaining BOM consistency.Manage the Material Standards and allocation across vendors/countries.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with the Sr.
Designer for feasible construction and cost engineering solutions based on design intention at design-lock stages, before specs are finalized.
Partner with the Production Manager to ensure a clean handoff into bulk production: no rework of specs or costing after handoff.
Work collaboratively with Sales Planning, Technical Design, and Marketing to bring designs to life as commercially viable products, within the go-to-market calendar.
REQUIREMENTS:
4+ years of product development experience, with demonstrated ownership of full-season development from concept through pre-production.
Material experience and expertise: deep understand of stretch, technical specifications and target functionality Intimates, loungewear, swim, or seamless/knit apparel experience strongly preferred.Demonstrated ability to run costing negotiations and hit margin targets independently.
Strong technical fit and construction knowledge; able to run fit sessions without a technical designer translating for you.
Vendor/factory management experience, ideally including overseas manufacturing partners.Proficiency with PLM systems, Adobe Illustrator, and advanced Excel skills.
Clear, effective communicator with vendor partners and internal stakeholders.Experience in sustainable materials.

Comfortable with presenting issues and solutions to larger team for quick react readiness
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range is $95,000 - $125,000, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.
If you are hired at tomboyx your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as, skills, education, and/or experience.
In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
Please keep in mind that hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
