Senior Systems Engineer — Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Operations The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and operating the cloud infrastructure that underpins the Abaxx platform ecosystem — spanning engineering systems, AI infrastructure, identity services, and operational tooling. This role owns the reliability, security, and scalability of production AWS environments, and works directly alongside software engineering teams to ensure infrastructure keeps pace with a platform expanding across multiple products simultaneously. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience operating production cloud environments, understands how infrastructure decisions carry downstream consequences across interconnected systems, and is as comfortable working proactively on architectural improvements as responding to production incidents. Responsibilities Design, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure environments, with accountability for production reliability, security posture, and operational readiness across all platform surfaces.Manage container orchestration across ECS and Kubernetes, including deployment pipelines, service configuration, and scaling across staging and production environments.Build and maintain CI/CD systems using GitHub Actions and infrastructure automation tooling, reducing manual intervention in the release process over time.Manage networking, DNS, TLS certificate management, load balancing, and cloud security configurations.Support production and staging deployment workflows across multiple applications and services.Build and maintain observability infrastructure — logging, monitoring, and alerting — that surfaces issues before they become incidents.Partner with software engineering teams on deployment architecture and operational troubleshooting.Own infrastructure scalability, disaster recovery, and operational readiness planning.Support infrastructure-as-code initiatives using Terraform, ensuring environments are version-controlled and reproducible.Participate in security hardening, patch management, and compliance-oriented operational practices.Assist with incident response and root cause analysis, with a bias toward systemic fixes over repeated triage. Required Qualifications 5+ years of systems engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure experience, with a track record of owning and operating production environments at scale.Strong hands-on experience with AWS, ECS, Kubernetes, and Docker, including production deployment and operational management.Experience managing DNS, load balancers, SSL/TLS certificates, and cloud networking configurations.Strong Linux systems administration knowledge, including performance tuning and operational debugging.Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, CI/CD automation, and observability and monitoring systems.Familiarity with security best practices in cloud-native environments, including IAM, secrets management, and network segmentation.Strong troubleshooting and operational debugging skills across distributed, multi-service environments.Ability to independently manage production infrastructure and communicate infrastructure risk clearly to engineering and leadership.Preferred Qualifications - Experience with any of the following is highly valuable: Bun.js or Node.js deployment environmentsPostgreSQL administration and performance tuningIstio or service mesh technologiesCloudFront, WAF, Route53, SES, or advanced AWS networking configurationsMulti-region and high-availability production deploymentsReal-time systems and WebSocket infrastructureAI and LLM infrastructure deploymentsGitOps workflowsFinancial infrastructure or regulated environment operationsSOC 2 or operational compliance environments About Abaxx Abaxx Technologies is building next-generation digital market infrastructure where identity, security, and intelligent automation converge.
