August 10, 2026 - Copenhagen, Denmark Engineering at the Frontiers of Biology and AI Most of medicine still reads human biology through DNA and RNA. We go further - into the spatial proteome, where proteins act in their native tissue context and where disease actually plays out. Biology has never been able to do this at scale, and that is what we set out to change. The scale challenge is real. Every measurement leaves a multi-gigabyte raw file behind, putting the archive on a path to petabytes and the peptide matrix toward tens of billions of rows - while insights about a single protein or patient sample need to be available at interactive speed. ResOne, our molecular intelligence platform, has already profiled over a billion pixels and hundreds of millions of peptide and protein measurements, and we project growing that by orders of magnitude. The Role As a Software Engineer at Resolute Bio, you will build the application layer of ResOne - the orchestration workflows that process every sample, the services and APIs that serve the results, the applications scientists use to explore the data, and the data models that make billions of data points queryable. Our internal tools are built in Streamlit today; some of what scientists use daily has outgrown it, and you could be the first engineer to turn those tools into real software - choosing the patterns and setting the standards our frontend work grows from. You will join a small, international team in central Copenhagen where code review is real, architecture decisions get debated, and the work translates into real differences in patient care, not just publications. We are an AI-forward team: we use agentic tools daily and expect you to be fluent with them - but the judgment about what to build, where a pipeline might fail, and whether a result can be trusted still comes from you. You Will Build the services and APIs behind ResOne - backend services, internal APIs, and serving layers that scientists, applications, and models queryDesign the data models that make scale usable - how proteomic and imaging data is represented, indexed, and aggregated across billions of raw observation pointsBuild and own the processing workflows - event-driven orchestration from instrument output to quantified results, with clear contracts between stages and the re-run semantics, idempotency, and provenance to make results reproducibleBuild the tools scientists actually use - interactive applications for exploring slides, tiles, and proteomes, and help our Streamlit tools mature into real applicationsAutomate the manual work - QC monitoring, report generation, and process automationExtend the platform's agentic surface - the MCP servers and tool interfaces that let agents query our data and drive our workflows safelyRaise the bar on engineering quality - testing, code review, and the patterns the rest of the team builds onTake end-to-end ownership of architecture decisions, working shoulder-to-shoulder with wet-lab and computational scientists to turn messy scientific requirements into reliable platform capabilities You Have Education & Experience At least 3 years building and shipping production software, with the fundamentals to write systems other people can maintain - testing, code review, system design - and the habit of owning your work end to end, including CI/CD and deploymentExperience working with real-world scientific or instrument-generated data - incomplete, inconsistent, or high-volumeTechnical Expertise Strong Python and backend development experience building services and APIs (FastAPI or comparable)Working experience with relational and document databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB), modeling data around real query patterns rather than just clean schemasExperience handling data at scale - analytical or large-volume stores such as data warehouses, columnar formats, or object storageExperience implementing SSO and authorization - OIDC/OAuth2 flows, session and token handling, and role-based access across both API and UIFluency with AI-assisted and agentic development tools (we use Cursor and Claude Code), and the judgment to know where they help and where they don'tMindset & Skills Curious - you want to understand why something works, not just that it does, and you keep digging until you doDriven by impact - you want to build systems that help answer biological questions, not just move data aroundPragmatic owner - you thrive in a fast-moving environment with ambiguity, and know when to build the robust thing and when to ship the simple oneEnergized by a diverse team - you learn as much from scientists and other disciplines as you contribute to your own Nice to Have Frontend experience building web applications - comfortable owning the UI layer regardless of frameworkHands-on experience with workflow orchestration (Prefect, Airflow, or comparable)Experience with mass spectrometry, proteomics, genomics, imaging, or other scientific data domains, including whole-slide image visualizationComfort working in a cloud environment (ideally AWS) - you don't need to own the infrastructure, but you should understand what you're deploying ontoFamiliarity with vector search, embeddings, and similarity retrieval, or with ML infrastructure and MLOps more broadly Interested?
