Full Stack Developer – Java / React Contract: Until end of December 2026 (likely extensions)Rate: €105 per hour (full-time)Location: Amsterdam (hybrid)We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer to join an exciting exploratory technology project within a large-scale digital organisation. This is a hands-on role for someone who can work across both backend and frontend development, with the majority of the work focused on backend engineering. You'll be joining a team working with existing technology infrastructure, developing new solutions and exploring how emerging technologies can be applied within a complex digital environment. What you'll be doing Developing software across both backend and frontend technologies.Working primarily on backend development, with approximately a 70/30 backend/frontend split.Building and improving services within an established technology environment.Working with Java and ideally Perl.Contributing to frontend development using React and associated libraries/frameworks.Taking ownership of development work from initial concept through to delivery.Working independently on an exploratory project where the requirements and solution may evolve.Collaborating with other engineering teams to integrate solutions into existing systems.Using AI tools as part of your everyday software development workflow.Contributing to coding, code reviews, technical design and architecture discussions.What we're looking for We're looking for a developer who is genuinely comfortable working across the stack. 5+ years' commercial software development experience.Strong backend development experience.Solid frontend development experience.Strong Java skills.Perl experience, or experience with another scripting language and a willingness to learn Perl.Experience with React or another modern frontend framework.Experience working across the full software development lifecycle.The ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate progress and blockers.Apply today for immediate consideration!
