As part of the Data Transparency team, you will contribute to the development and operation of the technical foundations that enable finding, discovering and consuming data in BASF. Your primary focus will be on designing, developing, and operating APIs that connect the Data Catalog with other data and AI platforms. Responsibilities And Key Outcomes Develop, maintain and support backend APIs in Python to enable scalable integrations between different systemsDefine and implement API standards, authentication mechanisms, versioning strategies, and observability capabilities to ensure reliable and secure data accessBuild and improve CI/CD pipelines and release procedures for the APIs and data-related automation components, with emphasis on safe deployments, environment promotion and rollbacksContribute to the evaluation and integration of AI-enabled services and capabilities that improve metadata management, searchability, and user experience within the data ecosystem Job Requirements Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similarStrong Python development experience, specifically with Django and Django REST Framework, building production-grade RESTful APIsSolid understanding of API design principles, including OpenAPI specifications, authentication and authorization (OAuth2, OpenID Connect), API versioning, rate limiting, and monitoringStrong problem-solving mindset and ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environmentFluent English, both written and spoken At BASF, we create chemistry for a sustainable future.
