Full Stack Engineer

A fast-growing start-up technology company is expanding its engineering function and is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to play a key role in shaping technical strategy, leading development initiatives, and driving the delivery of scalable software products. Responsibilities Software Development & Delivery Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and frontend user interfaces with Python (Django) and JavaScript/TypeScript (React).Build and enhance APIs, integrations, and core platform functionality.Develop cloud-native solutions and optimise system performance, reliability, and scalability.Ensure applications are secure, maintainable, and aligned with best engineering practices.Participate in architecture decisions and contribute to the evolution of the technology stack. Technical Leadership Lead the design and implementation of complex software solutions and multi-tenant platforms.Define technical standards, coding practices, and development methodologies.Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, testing strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives.Collaborate with product, design, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.Own and influence the technical roadmap, identifying opportunities for innovation and optimisation. Qualifications & Skills Technical Expertise Extensive experience in full-stack software development, with strong backend and frontend engineering capabilities.Proficiency in modern programming languages, frameworks, and web technologies.Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and integrating third-party platforms.Strong understanding of cloud platforms, microservices architecture, and distributed systems.Expertise in database design, optimisation, and data modelling. Leadership & Architecture Ability to design scalable, secure, and resilient software architectures.Strong understanding of SaaS platforms and multi-tenant application design.Experience balancing hands-on development with strategic technical decision-making. Development Practices Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, including automated testing frameworks.Experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines.Understanding of DevOps principles and modern software delivery practices.Commitment to maintaining high standards of code quality and documentation.
