Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and business-minded Tax Manager to join the BHI Center of Excellence in Bangalore. In this role, you will lead and manage end-to-end corporate tax, transfer pricing and GST compliance activities for legal entities and business operations across the region, while partnering closely with global and local stakeholders to strengthen tax governance, improve processes and support a scalable GCC operating model. The ideal candidate brings 10-12 years of progressive experience in tax, including prior Big 4 experience and hands-on exposure to GCC or shared services setup and scale-up environments. This role requires strong technical expertise across direct and indirect tax, deep knowledge of transfer pricing principles, strong stakeholder management and the ability to translate complex tax requirements into robust, efficient and audit-ready compliance processes. Key ResponsibilitiesCorporate Tax Compliance and AdvisoryOwn end-to-end direct tax compliance for the relevant India COE and partially for cross-border legal entities, including advance tax, tax return filings, withholding tax compliances, tax computations and supporting schedules Review monthly, quarterly and annual corporate tax positions and ensure timely, accurate and complete compliance with applicable laws and internal policies Coordinate with accounting, controllership and FP&A teams to ensure tax-sensitive transactions are correctly captured, documented and reported Support tax provisioning, effective tax rate analysis and year-end statutory reporting requirements in coordination with global tax and finance teams Monitor changes in tax law, assess business impact and drive implementation of required process, documentation or control changes Manage tax assessments, notices, audits and litigation support, including preparation of responses, fact packs and reconciliations Partner with business and legal teams to evaluate tax implications of new business models, contracts, intercompany arrangements and operational changes Ensure robust documentation and filing readiness for all material tax positions Transfer PricingLead transfer pricing compliance for intercompany transactions, including preparation and review of local file, master file, accountant’s reports and other jurisdiction-specific requirements Coordinate with global tax and external advisors on transfer pricing policy implementation, benchmarking support and annual compliance calendars Monitor intercompany charges and cost allocations to ensure alignment with approved transfer pricing policies and supporting documentation Partner with controllership and shared services teams to ensure transfer pricing entries are accurately booked and reconciled Support defense of transfer pricing positions during audits, assessments and authority queries Identify transfer pricing risks arising from GCC setup, evolving operating models or changes in functional profiles, and recommend mitigation actions GST and Indirect Tax ComplianceOwn GST compliance across registrations, return filings, tax payments, reconciliations and annual return requirements Review GST treatment of vendor invoices, customer transactions, cross-charge arrangements, input tax credit eligibility and reversals Establish strong controls around GST data capture, classification, place of supply and documentation Partner with procurement, accounts payable, payroll, legal and business teams to resolve indirect tax issues and improve upstream data quality Manage GST audits, departmental notices, investigations and refund-related matters in coordination with internal and external stakeholders Continuously improve GST compliance processes, including automation opportunities, exception reporting and filing controls GCC Setup, Governance and Process ExcellenceSupport tax aspects of GCC setup, expansion and operating model changes, including entity structuring, registration requirements, intercompany flows and process design Build and maintain scalable tax compliance calendars, standard operating procedures, risk-control matrices and documentation repositories Drive simplification, standardization and automation of recurring tax compliance and reporting processes Serve as the tax subject matter expert for finance transformation, ERP changes and system/process enhancement initiatives that have tax implications Develop practical operating guidance for shared services teams and ensure tax requirements are embedded into day-to-day workflows Track key compliance metrics, identify gaps proactively and escalate issues with clear remediation plans Stakeholder ManagementAct as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on tax compliance matters within the role’s scope Collaborate effectively with global tax, controllership, finance operations, legal, payroll, procurement and external advisors to ensure timely issue resolution Communicate complex tax matters clearly to non-tax stakeholders, balancing technical accuracy with business practicality Build strong working relationships with tax authorities, auditors and advisors where relevant to support smooth compliance execution Knowledge and SkillsWhat You HaveBachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law or a related field Chartered Accountant or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred* 10-12 years of relevant tax experience, including prior experience in a Big 4 firm Hands-on experience in GCC, shared services or multinational captive setup environments Strong people leadership experience in a matrix environment, with proven ability to manage and develop a team of 4–6 members, set clear priorities, provide coaching and feedback, and partner across functions and geographies to drive effective tax execution.
