Our client, a well-established Canadian organization undergoing significant digital transformation, is seeking a Specialist, Cloud Infrastructure Operations Engineering to join its Technology and Business Transformation team. This role is ideal for a senior cloud infrastructure professional passionate about cloud operations, automation, security, and modern infrastructure engineering practices. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, optimizing, securing, and maintaining enterprise cloud environments that support critical business operations. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and IT teams to design, deploy, configure, and maintain cloud infrastructure environments primarily within Microsoft Azure.Implement and optimize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform, ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation, and Ansible.Drive automation initiatives to streamline cloud administration, operational processes, and infrastructure management.Design resilient, scalable, and self-healing cloud architectures leveraging Azure-native technologies, automation tools, and CI/CD best practices.Apply and enforce cloud security best practices including IAM, encryption, compliance standards, and least-privilege access principles.Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, availability, and security while supporting incident response and compliance activities.Develop and maintain automation scripts and operational tooling using Python, Bash, and PowerShell.Partner with cross-functional teams including Architecture, Security, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams to support enterprise cloud initiatives.Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.Present infrastructure strategies, roadmaps, and optimization recommendations to leadership and business stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in cloud engineering, cloud operations, or infrastructure architecture.Strong expertise with Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments, including Entra ID / Azure AD integrations.Advanced hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation frameworks, and scripting technologies.Strong knowledge of networking, virtualization, containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud security frameworks.Experience supporting enterprise DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.Proven ability to work across technical and business teams while influencing cloud transformation initiatives.Strong communication skills with experience presenting technical concepts and strategic recommendations to leadership teams. Preferred Qualifications Azure Administrator Associate certification or equivalent cloud certifications.Experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Exposure to PAM solutions, SIEM/SOAR integrations, and advanced identity security practices.Knowledge of FinOps methodologies and cloud cost optimization strategies.
