Join a growing engineering team as a Full Stack Cloud Engineer and work across a modern web and cloud stack. Depending on your strengths, you may focus more on APIs, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure or on customer-facing interfaces. You will still work comfortably across the stack, using React on the frontend, Rust and Node.js on the backend, and AWS for cloud infrastructure.
Highlights
Work across a modern full-stack cloud environment spanning React, Rust, Node.js, and AWS. Multiple positions are available with flexibility toward frontend or backend strengths, offering broad technical exposure to APIs, data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and customer-facing interfaces.
Description
Department: Cloud
Location: Copenhagen
Description
Factbird helps manufacturers turn real-time production data into decisions they can actually act on.
Since 2016, we've helped manufacturers in 28 countries cut waste, boost uptime, and run smarter β from the shop floor to the boardroom.
Over 300 companies trust us to make sense of their operations, and we're a team of 80+ people across Copenhagen and the US who care about making complex things simple.
We're growing our engineering team and hiring several Full Stack Cloud Engineers β people who can move confidently across our stack: React on the front end, Rust and Node.js on the back end, and a multi-account AWS underneath it all.
About the Role
We're open on where your strengths sit.
Some of these roles will lean more toward the back end β APIs, data pipelines, cloud infrastructure.
Others will lean more toward the front end β the interfaces our customers use every day.
What matters is that you're genuinely full stack: comfortable owning a feature end to end, and willing to work across the stack when the team needs it.
We're not looking for anyone who only does front end or only does back end.
Weβre looking for confident independent contributors that lean into ownership, are keen to shape architecture, and invest in mentoring others.
You'll fit right in if you've got a pragmatic, get-it-done mindset, a good instinct for testing and clean design, and you're just as happy explaining a technical trade-off to another engineer as to someone outside engineering.
What you'll do
Building & shippingOperate within a Nix-backed ecosystem from development tooling to cross-compiled build artifactsOwn features end to end β from a rough idea or user story through to a shipped, tested, monitored piece of production softwareBuild and maintain frontend features in React and backend services in TypeScript on Node.js and Rust, backed by a multi-account orchestrated AWS environment (Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, EKS, and more, depending on the team)Write infrastructure as code (e.g.
AWS CDK) for the systems you build
Team & growthTake part in code reviews β giving and receiving feedback that makes the codebase betterContribute to sprint planning, story breakdown, and demosDesign systems and data pipelines from scratch, mentor other engineers, author RFCs and architecture decisions, and help set technical standards for the team
About you
We're looking for engineers who've seen more than one way of doing things, and who'll bring that perspective to challenge how we do things here β with a pragmatic, get-it-done mindset that can turn ambiguity into a plan.
The ideal backgroundAt least three years experience since graduating from a relevant Masters programSolid, hands-on experience across the full stack β frontend (React or equivalent) and backend (Rust/Note.js, or equivalent) β even if you have a natural preference for one sideComfort working with AWS or another major cloud providerA track record of shipping features independently, with a good instinct for testing, code quality, and clean designGood communication β you can explain a technical trade-off clearly, whether you're talking to another engineer or someone outside engineering.
And you can do all this with strong English fluency.Experience designing systems from scratch, mentoring other engineers, or driving architecture decisions through to a decision
We welcome applicants from people eager to move to Denmark so long as you already have the legal right to live and work here.
We can contribute to relocation costs for the right candidate.
