As a Software Engineer (Support), you'll work alongside experienced engineers to develop, support, and improve software used by emergency services and public safety organisations. You'll gain hands-on experience across software development, troubleshooting, production support, databases, and cloud-hosted environments while helping solve meaningful technical challenges. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who enjoys technology, loves solving problems, and wants broad exposure to the full software development lifecycle. Based in Wellington, you'll join a collaborative team that values learning, mentorship, innovation, and continuous improvement. What You'll Learn And Do No two days are the same. You'll have the opportunity to: Investigate and resolve software issues affecting real customers.Develop software fixes, enhancements, and new features using C# and .NET.Work with databases and application environments to identify and solve technical problems.Participate in software design, development, testing, and deployment activities.Learn how production systems operate and how engineering teams support them.Collaborate with Software Engineers, System Engineers, Database Administrators, and Test Engineers across New Zealand and globally.Contribute ideas that improve system reliability, performance, and customer experience.Participate in Agile development practices including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.Build technical and professional skills through mentorship and hands-on experience. What We're Looking For We're looking for passionate problem solvers who enjoy technology and want to continue developing their engineering skills. Requirements Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).Experience with C# and .NET development.Ability to participate in an on-call support roster.Ability to obtain and maintain relevant Police and Government security clearances.Wellington-based or willing to relocate to Wellington. You'll Ideally Have Experience with C#, .NET, or similar programming technologies.An understanding of software engineering principles and development practices.Experience with SQL or relational databases.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.A willingness to learn and take ownership of your work.Good communication and collaboration skills.A genuine interest in software development and technology.
