As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Backend Developer (Junior to Mid-Level) to join our engineering team. Whether you're a recent graduate, completed a coding bootcamp, or already have a few years of professional experience, we're looking for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, is eager to learn, and wants to grow alongside an experienced team. In this role, you'll help build and improve the backend services that power riskine's products while developing your skills in modern software engineering. What you’ll do Design, develop, and maintain backend features that power our products together with experienced engineers.Write clean, maintainable code and support automated testing to ensure high software quality.Investigate, debug, and resolve issues across our backend services while contributing to continuous improvements in reliability and performance.Collaborate closely with frontend developers to design and integrate APIs and new functionality.Test, debug, and improve API communication between internal and external services.Maintain and improve technical documentation, data models, and API specifications.Continuously deepen your understanding of our products, architecture, and engineering practices.Work with a modern technology stack including Docker, Python, PostgreSQL, Flask, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Dapr, and Traefik. Your profile Foundation in backend or full-stack software development, with experience using Python.(First) experience building or working with API-based web applications and microservices.Ideally a good understanding of HTTP, REST, authentication, and relational databases (SQL).Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.Professional working proficiency in English is required. German is a strong plus, but not mandatory.Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is a plus, but not required. What we offer Your minimum salary is € 3.267 gross/month (14x per year) according to the IT collective agreement. Overpayment is explicitly considered, depending on your qualifications and professional experience.
