Summary ✨ AI‑Generated

A real-time systems engineer is sought to build high-throughput, low-latency pipelines that transport processor telemetry into a machine-learning inference runtime and expose resulting security signals through APIs. The role spans kernel-to-ML integration, model execution, batching, result delivery, and multi-consumer API infrastructure.

Highlights

Advanced real-time engineering opportunity spanning hardware telemetry, machine-learning inference, high-throughput streaming, API integration, and security-focused systems, with exposure to GPU/NPU acceleration and full-stack development.

Description

AMD is building a hardware-assisted security platform that uses silicon-level Performance Monitoring Counters (PMCs) and on-chip machine learning to detect advanced endpoint threats (ransomware, fileless malware, cryptojacking) at the processor layer, below OS-based evasion. The platform collects CPU behavioral telemetry, classifies it via an ML inference engine, and exposes threat signals to security-software partners through a standardized API. The team covers the full stack: silicon telemetry, ML training/validation, real-time inference, lab qualification and CI/CD. Responsibilities: Implement high-throughput, low-latency data pipelines that stream PMC telemetry from the kernel-mode driver to the ML inference runtime on AMD integrated GPU or NPU. Develop and maintain the real-time inference integration layer: model loading, batching, inference execution and result delivery to the API layer. Build the ISV API surface: threat signal delivery, subscriber registration, multi-consumer support and API versioning. Optimize streaming pipeline throughput and latency to meet end-to-end detection-to-alert targets; profile and reduce CPU overhead. Implement per-process and per-thread telemetry attribution so threat signals carry accurate process context. Develop unit and integration tests for the real-time pipeline; participate in load and stress testing. Collaborate with lab engineers to replay captured malware telemetry through the production pipeline. Document API specifications, pipeline architecture and integration guides for partner developers. Mandatory Skills Description: 3+ years of systems programming experience in C, C++ or Rust. Experience with real-time or low-latency software: kernel/user-space data pipelines, shared memory, ring buffers or lock-free queues. Familiarity with Windows or Linux kernel programming concepts and driver-to-user-space communication mechanisms. Strong debugging and profiling skills on production systems. Nice-to-Have Skills Description: Experience developing SDKs or APIs for external partners. Knowledge of AMD GPU compute stack or GPU/NPU programming models. Familiarity with performance monitoring infrastructure on x86-64 platforms. Background in endpoint security or EDR software. Experience integrating ML inference runtimes (e.g. ONNX Runtime, OpenVINO or equivalent). Languages: English: B2 Upper Intermediate
