Description

Job description: Job title: Junior Data Platform Engineer Location: Katowice HUB (hybrid) Type: full time (permanent) Your role: We’re looking for a Junior Data Platform Engineer to help build and maintain the foundational tools, frameworks, and automation that power our data platform. Rather than focusing solely on individual data pipelines, your work will centre on creating reusable components, utilities, and infrastructure that enable the wider data engineering team to deliver faster and more reliably. Working alongside senior engineers, you will contribute to platform automation, help draft architecture diagrams, and support the continuous improvement of our cloud-based data environment. This role is ideal for someone who thinks in systems, enjoys building things that others can build on, and is eager to learn modern platform engineering practices. Your key responsibilities: Assisting in the development of reusable tools, frameworks, and utilities that support the data engineering team. Contributing to the automation of platform operations, including deployment, monitoring, and maintenance tasks. Building modular and well-documented ETL/ELT pipeline components with a strong focus on reusability across projects. Supporting the maintenance and improvement of our cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure (Databricks, ADLS, AI Foundry, etc). Helping to draft and maintain architecture diagrams and technical documentation for the data platform. Writing and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform under the guidance of senior engineers. Collaborating on CI/CD workflows and GitHub-based development practices to ensure smooth and reliable deployments. Assisting with the configuration and maintenance of Databricks workspaces, clusters, and access controls. Participating in code reviews, applying coding standards, and contributing to a culture of engineering quality. Using AI-powered agents and coding assistants to accelerate development, prototyping, and problem-solving. Collaborating with the team during Scrum ceremonies and contributing to sprint deliverables. What we are looking for: 0–2 years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or a related technical role (internships count). A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, data science, or a related discipline. Basic proficiency in Python and SQL, with an interest in writing clean, modular, and reusable code. Foundational understanding of cloud computing concepts, ideally with some exposure to Microsoft Azure. Awareness of Infrastructure-as-Code principles (e.g., Terraform) and a willingness to learn. Familiarity with version control (Git/GitHub) and basic CI/CD concepts. Basic understanding of data platform components such as data lakes, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data warehouses. Interest in or exposure to Databricks, Power BI, or similar data and analytics tools. Comfortable working with AI agents and coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) as development tools. Ability to read and contribute to architecture diagrams and technical documentation. A fast learner with strong motivation, curiosity, and a systematic problem-solving mindset. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in an agile, collaborative team environment. What’s in it for you: As part of our global team, you’ll join a modern, collaborative environment designed to help you thrive—professionally and personally. Our benefits package includes: Yearly salary review and annual bonus based on company’s results and individual performance Private medical care and employer‑paid life insurance Monthly MyBenefit cafeteria points and holiday reimbursement Access to discounted company products Employee referral rewards up to 3,000 PLN Structured onboarding and continuous learning opportunities Cross‑functional collaboration with global teams Regular HUB events, recognition programs, and a strong culture of teamwork What to expect from us: We know that the whole recruitment process can be stressful, so we promise to make it as straightforward as possible.
