Work at the intersection of automotive technology, data science, and software engineering to improve the safety, explainability, and readiness of automated driving systems.
Description
Are you passionate about automotive technology, data analytics and software development? Do you want to use your Python skills to contribute to the safe introduction of automated vehicles on public roads?
As an Automotive Data Engineer, you will work at the intersection of automotive technology, data science and software development.
You will develop algorithms that process and analyze large amounts of real-world driving data and translate this data into relevant traffic scenarios for testing automated driving systems.
Your work has a clear purpose: helping to make automated and AI-based driving systems safer, explainable and ready for the mobility of the future.
What will be your job like as Automotive Data Engineer?
Automated vehicles need to be able to deal safely and reliably with countless different traffic situations.
To demonstrate this, large amounts of real-world driving data need to be processed, analyzed and translated into relevant test scenarios.
As an Automotive Data Engineer, you will contribute to the further development of an advanced data processing pipeline that automatically detects and classifies traffic scenarios based on real-world vehicle data.
These scenarios are subsequently used to test and assess automated driving functions.
Your main focus will be on developing and improving deterministic detection and analysis algorithms in Python.
Explainability and reproducibility are essential within this environment, as the results are used for the safety assessment of automated driving systems.
This means you will not only focus on whether an algorithm works, but also on ensuring that its results are reliable, transparent and reproducible.
Together with your colleagues and external partners, you will contribute to the roadmap and upcoming development sprints.
You will translate requirements and research questions into practical functionality that can be implemented, tested and validated.
You will work with large real-world driving datasets and process these within a cloud-based environment.
Besides developing new functionality, you will contribute to testing and deploying new elements of the data processing pipeline.
What you bring?
You have a strong interest in automotive technology, software and data and enjoy turning complex datasets and technical challenges into structured and reliable solutions.
You don't necessarily need years of professional experience.
This position is particularly suitable for a recent graduate or junior engineer who already has a solid technical foundation in Python and data analytics and wants to further develop within automotive technology and automated driving.
To be successful in this role, you bring:
A Master's degree in Data Science, Automotive Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or a comparable technical discipline;A strong foundation in data analytics, data science and/or AI methodologies;Good knowledge of statistics and data analysis; At least two years of experience programming in Python, which may include relevant experience gained during your studies, internships or research projects; The ability to develop structured, explainable and reproducible algorithms; An interest in automated driving, ADAS, vehicle safety and data-driven automotive technologies;Familiarity with an Agile way of working;Experience with version management and development workflows such as Git and CI/CD;;A collaborative mindset and the ability to discuss technical assumptions and solutions with colleagues and external partners;Good communication skills in both Dutch and English.
