About the RoleWe're looking for an experienced Java Backend Developer to join our growing engineering team.
You'll play a key role in designing and developing robust backend services, secure APIs, and high-performance systems that power business-critical applications.

Main ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop secure, high-performance RESTful APIs and microservices.Build and optimise relational (SQL) and NoSQL database solutions using Hibernate or JPA.Write clean, reusable, and well-tested Java code using tools such as JUnit.Troubleshoot application issues, optimise performance, and improve scalability.Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers in an Agile/Scrum environment.Requirements4+ years' commercial experience as a Java Backend Developer.Strong experience with Core Java, including object-oriented programming, multithreading, and concurrency.Excellent knowledge of the Spring Framework, particularly Spring Boot.Hands-on experience building REST APIs and microservices.Experience developing serverless applications using AWS Lambda or Azure Functions (essential).Commercial experience developing backend applications or automation using Python (essential).Strong understanding of SQL, relational databases, and ORM technologies such as Hibernate or JPA.Experience working with Git and modern software development practices.Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.BenefitsWork on modern cloud-native applications and scalable microservices.Hybrid working after the first month.Collaborative and supportive engineering culture.Exposure to the latest backend technologies, cloud platforms, and DevOps practices.Opportunity to make a real impact on products used by clients around the world.
