The role This company builds large-scale simulated populations of AI personas, grounded in real-world behavioural data, to help Fortune 500 organizations test strategies against audiences they couldn't otherwise reach. Backed by leading investors, they're solving a hard, impactful problem at the intersection of AI and market intelligence. This is their first lead-level product engineering hire. You'll own features end-to-end, from architectural decisions to UI details, working directly with the CTO and designer. This isn't just building a component; it's shaping the product's future, turning frontier AI research into client-facing solutions, and setting the engineering standard for a growing team. The work Own the full vertical slice of new features: from front-end interaction and API design to database schema and deployment.Make critical architectural decisions on system design, data models, and API contracts that will define the product for years.Translate cutting-edge AI simulation capabilities into robust, user-facing product features for Fortune 500 clients.Ensure product reliability and performance, sweating details like latency, empty states, and small interactions that define user experience.Establish the engineering bar for system design and code quality as the team scales, mentoring future hires. What You Bring 5+ years shipping production software, consistently owning features from concept to deployment, and acting as a go-to engineer for complex problems.Expertise in TypeScript and comfort across the stack; productive in Python for integration with the core simulation engine.Deep understanding of full-stack performance: browser rendering, API latency, caching, concurrency, and debugging across the entire system.Advanced database skills (preferably Postgres), including indexing, query optimization, and zero-downtime schema migrations.Proven experience designing scalable architecture, defining service boundaries, and establishing robust API contracts.Fluency with AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Codex) to accelerate development while maintaining high code quality standards.
