Are you a software or data engineer who enjoys more than just building pipelines? We're looking for a Data Solutions Developer to join a team delivering data-driven solutions for clients. This is a hands-on role combining software engineering, data engineering, analytics and client engagement. You'll work with large datasets and modern data platforms, while also getting involved in understanding business requirements and turning them into practical technical solutions. What you'll be doing Design and develop data solutions based on client and business requirementsBuild and maintain data pipelines and solutions using Databricks, Python and SQLWork with large datasets and develop solutions within complex engineering environmentsTranslate business requirements into technical approaches and deliver working solutionsWork directly with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and discuss solution optionsAnalyse data and help turn it into useful business insightsWork with dashboard and visualisation tools such as Power BI or TableauTroubleshoot and improve existing data and software solutionsContribute to solution discussions We're particularly interested in people who have a software engineering or strong engineering background and have moved into, or worked alongside, data engineering. You should have: Strong hands-on Python experienceStrong SQL skills β€” you will be assessed on thisHands-on experience with Databricks preferredExperience with Snowflake is also relevantBackground in Java, .NET or another software development environmentExperience building data pipelines, applications or technical solutionsExperience working with large datasetsExposure to Power BI, Tableau or similar visualisation toolsExperience with GCP is useful, although AWS or another cloud platform is also considered We're not looking for someone who only wants to focus on data engineering. The ideal person enjoys understanding what the client is trying to achieve, gathering requirements, thinking through the solution and then getting hands-on with the technology to build it. You'll work across the full process from understanding the problem β†’ designing the solution β†’ developing it β†’ working with stakeholders β†’ delivering the outcome. Experience dealing directly with clients, running requirements discussions or contributing to solution design is highly valued. Experience working towards pre-sales or solutions consulting would also be a plus. We're prioritising candidates with: 1. Strong engineering fundamentals 2. Python + SQL 3. Hands-on Databricks or Snowflake 4. Experience developing technical solutions 5. Client/stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering 6.
