As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Bendigo Bank, you will be at the core of our engineering capability.
You will build, secure, and operate the state-of-the-art platforms and pipelines that enable us to ship high-quality software, safely and at speed.
Blending deep expertise in both software and cloud engineering, you will automate everything you can, design for ultimate reliability, and simplify the development lifecycle for our product teams.

In this role you’ll get to…
Utilise Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD pipelines to design, implement, and operate secure, scalable cloud resources across all environments on AWS and GCP.Holistically engineer and manage our Kubernetes platforms (EKS and GKE) at scale, covering their entire lifecycle including provisioning, upgrades, security hardening, performance tuning, and the management of core controllers, services, and policies.Own and enhance our GitLab CI/CD pipelines from commit to production, embedding security (SAST/DAST/SCA, container scanning), quality, and automation to enable efficient and secure deployments.Ensure the resilience and reliability of our core platforms by being accountable during operational events and incidents, managing risks, and using these opportunities to implement systemic improvements and build resilient patterns into our architecture.Collaborate with application teams and key stakeholders across the Technology division, including teams like Security, Data and AI, SRE, and Cloud to deliver robust and integrated platform solutions.Leverage our AI platform to innovate and find opportunities that improve our products, services, and the overall developer experience.
What you’ll bring to the role
To be successful in the role you will have: …
Deep knowledge of cloud architecture and hands-on operational experience with AWS and/or GCP.Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), with a preference for Terraform.Expertise in containerisation with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes (EKS/GKE), including ecosystem tools like Helm, in large-scale production environments.Proven experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, implementing GitOps principles with ArgoCD, and managing artifacts with registries like JFrog Artifactory.Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, Go, Bash, or TypeScript.A platform engineering mindset with a solid understanding of testing, automation, security, and delivering a seamless developer experience.Familiarity with modern AI concepts, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and agent-based systems, would be a significant advantage.
