About the Company Halo X Labs is building HALO Chip, a subdermal GPS and health-tracking implant for dogs. We're early-stage and currently raising, building out our founding technical team. About the Role We're looking for a Founding Backend/Full-Stack Engineer to build and own our cloud backend and mobile app. You'll work closely with our Head of Development, who owns the overall technical architecture, while you own hands-on implementation: standing up our AWS infrastructure and building the app our customers actually use. Responsibilities Cloud backend on AWS: IoT Core for device connectivity, Lambda for compute, TimescaleDB for sensor/location history, and RDS (PostgreSQL) for accounts and the chip-to-owner registryThe chip-to-owner registration flow, including the QR-code claim process new customers use to link a physical chip to their accountOur mobile app (React Native, TypeScript), the primary way owners see their dog's location, activity, and health statusBackend and app built in Node.js/TypeScript, working closely with the Head of Development to make sure firmware and backend assumptions about data and device identity stay in syncStanding up this entire stack from scratch, there is no backend or app built yet Qualifications Real experience building production backend systems on AWS, ideally with IoT or device-connected productsReal experience shipping a mobile app, React Native strongly preferredComfortable owning a full stack alone in the early days: infrastructure, APIs, and the app that consumes themA startup-stage mindset: this role exists before there's a backend or app at all, you're building both from zeroComfortable working directly with a non-technical CEO and a small founding team Pay range and compensation package This is a founding, equity-only role: equity in Halo X Labs.
