About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to lead the front-end technical strategy for Coinbase Advanced, our sophisticated trading platform designed for experienced traders. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the development of a high-performance, scalable trading system that operates across web and mobile platforms. As a technical leader, you will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to define and execute a roadmap that ensures reliability, low latency, and exceptional user experience. Your expertise will drive performance improvements, mentor engineers, and shape the architecture of our trading infrastructure. This position is ideal for someone passionate about blockchain, trading systems, and creating innovative solutions at the intersection of crypto and consumer technology. Qualifications 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on modern front-end frameworks and mobile environments.Proven track record of optimizing complex systems for rendering performance, network efficiency, and state management.Experience mentoring senior engineers and leading organizational improvements.Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical challenges into actionable plans.Experience working in fast-growing companies, scaling teams from small to large sizes.Knowledge of low latency trading systems and real-time data processing.Familiarity with blockchain technologies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and onchain activity.Experience with decomposing monolithic architectures into microservices.Proficiency with technologies such as Golang, Ruby, Docker, Sinatra, Rails, and Postgres.Crypto-forward mindset with experience engaging with dApps, ENS, and blockchain-based services. Responsibilities Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to define and implement a technical roadmap for a reliable, scalable trading platform.Lead the development of low latency, high-performance interfaces for experienced traders across web and mobile platforms.Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and career development support to engineering team members.Anchor complex projects, ensuring adherence to high standards for code quality and system design.Optimize rendering performance, network efficiency, and state management across multiple platforms.Drive organizational improvements and contribute to the evolution of engineering practices.Engage with blockchain technologies and integrate onchain activities into the trading platform.Decompose and modernize legacy monolithic systems into microservices architectures where applicable.
