Technology Consultant – DevOps

Job Role: Technology Consultant – DevOps Experience: 4+ years Location: Qatar (Onsite) Duration: 1 year Role Objective The DevOps Consultant will be primarily involved during the build, deployment, test, transition and operations of new/deployed solutions. The DevOps Consultant works in collaboration with the Management, Delivery, Testing team and Operations team to develop a framework for DevOps. The DevOps Consultant delivers technical solutions and support to customers helping them develop solutions using DevOps principles and actively participates in the DevOps consultancy offering. The ideal candidate will have experience in customer facing roles and success in implementing DevOps methodologies, implementing solutions using Microsoft platform, technologies and implementing CI/CD The DevOps Consultant will also be responsible for implementing & supporting - tools viz.. Azure DevOps, Google Cloud DevOps, OCI DevOps, Helm, PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible/Chef etc. and developing scripts for operations automation. Operational Gathers and analyzes business needs and requirements and conducts technical study and assessment of solutions to address requirements. Design of DevOps strategy: Design and implement an Agile work management approach Recommend a quality strategy Design a secure development process / DevSecOps Implementation Designs and implements automation and configuration management products in internal and client environments, including on premise/hosted, cloud service providers such as Azure, Google, OCI The design and implementation of continuous integration: Manage code quality and security policies The implementation of DevOps development processes: Design a version control strategy Implement and integrate source control Implement and manage build infrastructure Implement code flow Managing application configuration and secrets using Vaults The design and implementation of continuous integration: Manage code quality and security policies Implement a container build, orchestration / build strategy The design and implementation of continuous delivery: Set up a release management workflow Implement an appropriate deployment pattern The design and implementation of application infrastructure: Design an infrastructure and configuration management strategy Implement Infrastructure as code (IaC) Manage Kubernetes Service infrastructure Familiar with Helm chart usages & NPM Implement infrastructure compliance and security The design and implementation of continuous feedback: Recommend and design system feedback mechanisms Implement process for routing system feedback to development teams Optimize feedback mechanisms. Create gold image build, automate build process and integrate applications Ability to evaluate new technology options and vendor products Write code to automate repeatable processes Work with the Testing and Delivery teams to ensure issues identified during test phase are resolved before release to Production environment. Ensure compliance with best practices, internal and customer standards Ensure documents are produced for all work using required standards, methods and tools and configurations items and their relationships are documented Automate delivery processes and automation, standardization and optimization. Behavioral Skills, Knowledge And Experience Educational Qualifications: Degree in Computer Science or Engineering Accreditations e.g. Microsoft Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Google Cloud - Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) DevOps Professional or. Accreditations: Good to have - Ansible/AKS certifications, ITIL foundation Skills & Experience: At least 4-5 years, related experience Experience with hyperscalers: Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle OCI Familiar with agile methodologies, test plan creation and testing Engineering skills including build design, build automation, SOE creation, provisioning cloud Infra. Deep understanding of DevOps, cloud computing technologies (Azure, Google, OCI), business drivers, and emerging computing trends. Experience with configuring Code Quality tools viz.. SonarQube, OWASP toolset, Pipelines, Artifacts, NPM, Maven, Nugget packages. Experience in - deploying container images in Kubernetes using Helm Charts. Experience with Windows, Linux and OSS technologies. Experience with configuration management and automation technologies such as Terraform, PowerShell/bash scripts, Chef/Ansible, Bicep / ARM Templates. Experience with deploying infrastructure for databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL. Working knowledge with AGILE development, SCRUM and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) with one or more of the following programming languages (preferred): PowerShell, Bash, .NET etc.. Behavioral Skills: Strong communication, technical writing, and customer service skills Self-starter: ability to work under pressure and prioritize with minimal supervision Exhibits the ability to adapt and be flexible within a growing and changing environment Checking progress against targets, reporting as necessary and taking action to resolve exceptions Multi-tasking skills and attention to detail Willing to work in flexible timings during deployments / as per project requirement. Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through. Prior work experience in consulting within a software and/or services company. Problem-solving mentality leveraging internal and/or external resources.
