About The Role As a Senior Public Cloud Engineer (m/w/d), you will play a key role in expanding and optimizing our cloud platform and infrastructure, with a specific focus on Google Cloud. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a Terraform-based infrastructure that enables seamless and automated migration of workloads. Working within an agile, interdisciplinary team, you will have opportunities to develop your skills further and deepen your expertise. Your primary focus will be on supporting our cloud migration initiatives, improving platform capabilities, and establishing standardized processes to ensure efficient and secure cloud operations. Qualifications Completed IT degree or an equivalent qualification with relevant IT skills.Extensive experience in Public Cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), along with proficiency in Terraform (IaC).Experience working with version control systems like GitLab, GitHub, or Bitbucket.Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows server administration and management, including networking and load balancers.Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker, scripting languages such as Bash and PowerShell, and programming in Python.Willingness to define clear responsibilities and distinguish between tasks within your team and across other departments.Ideally, knowledge of industry standards, security concepts, policies, and regulatory compliance within the insurance and financial sectors.Certifications in Cloud technologies are advantageous; willingness to participate in training and obtain relevant certifications is essential.Strong team orientation and excellent communication skills, with fluency in German (verhandlungssicher) and very good English language skills. Responsibilities Design, support, and operate cloud architectures to facilitate workload migrations to Google Cloud.Continuously develop and improve the Google Cloud platform, focusing on virtual machines (Compute Engine).Create, implement, and optimize frameworks for cloud-based infrastructure and applications.Prioritize and organize requirements within the backlog and roadmap for the VM platform.Engage closely with technical product owners to promote application migration by providing expert knowledge on cloud benefits.Establish standardized processes and mechanisms, advising on the implementation and deployment of workloads in Google Cloud.Utilize modern automation methods, including CI/CD pipelines, to deploy and develop complex infrastructures and services in the public cloud environment.
