About The Role We are seeking a talented Software Developer specializing in Online Banking Backend systems to join our dynamic team. This full-time position can be based in Hannover, Münster, or Frankfurt. The successful candidate will play a vital role in designing, implementing, and optimizing solutions within our online banking infrastructure, primarily focusing on Mainframe and Cobol environments. Your expertise will contribute directly to maintaining and enhancing the security, performance, and reliability of our online banking services. You will collaborate closely with product managers, technical teams, and management to ensure the delivery of high-quality, innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a successfully completed relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification. A minimum of two to three years of practical experience in software development, particularly within banking or financial services, is essential. Advanced knowledge of Cobol, JCL, SQL/DB2, and CICS- and Batch-programming under TSO/ISPF is required. Familiarity with FinTS standards is advantageous. Candidates should have hands-on experience with frameworks, databases, servers, and development tools, along with a solid understanding of design patterns and agile methodologies. A strong analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and a responsible approach to IT security and the use of AI tools are also important. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including the conceptualization, development, and continuous improvement of solutions within the Mainframe and Cobol environment. You will apply modern software development practices, emphasizing agile methods to shorten development cycles and improve software quality. Coordination with bank product managers, technical leads, and team members will be crucial to ensure seamless project execution. You will oversee technical aspects of projects, manage program deployments, and ensure adherence to security standards. Additionally, you will conduct complex error analyses to enhance system performance and reliability. Ensuring the highest quality standards in system and product releases, as well as optimizing performance through detailed analysis and troubleshooting, will be key components of your role.
