Description

Full-Stack Engineer — Vitabyte Inc. Astoria, NY (on-site) · Full-time · $110,000–$130,000 We build the payment and point-of-sale software that runs in restaurants, bars, and nightclubs — the terminal in the server's hand, the gateway the transaction travels through, and the portal the operator reconciles the next morning. Most of it runs on Oracle MICROS Simphony; we're an Oracle partner building directly against their payment and reporting interfaces. It's specialized work very few engineers have done — which is exactly why it's interesting, and why we're glad to teach it. Small team, so the work is direct: you own systems, not tickets, and ship to production where real money moves. What you'd work on — four production systems: - Payments API + workers — Go, Echo, GORM, PostgreSQL - Merchant/operator portal — Next.js, React, TypeScript, Drizzle - Android card-terminal app — Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, EMV, PAX - Oracle payment interface service — Go, WebSockets, SPI/OPI What we're looking for: - ~3–6 years writing software, strong in Go or TypeScript (and happy to learn the rest) - You care about correctness — this is money; a double-charge isn't a cosmetic bug - Comfortable reading an existing codebase and working near hardware, processor APIs, timeouts and retries - Payments/POS/Simphony experience is a plus, not a requirement — we'll teach Simphony On-site in Astoria, Queens (by the N/W at 30th Ave). Health insurance included. To apply: email george@vitabyte.com with a short note about something you've built and shipped — what it did, what was hard, and what you'd change now. A link to your code is welcome.
