About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer (m/w/d) to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and automating our web infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. You will work closely with software developers and system administrators to implement continuous integration and delivery pipelines, applying modern DevOps practices and Infrastructure-as-Code principles. Your expertise will be crucial in streamlining deployment processes, reducing turnaround times from development to production, and supporting the ongoing operation of our web applications. The ideal candidate will possess a proactive mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for technology innovation. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a university degree in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable qualification, complemented by extensive professional experience in DevOps environments. Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, and automation frameworks like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef, is essential. Experience with Java-based web applications, Nginx configuration as a reverse proxy and load balancer, and familiarity with relational databases like Oracle and PostgreSQL are advantageous. Strong skills in Linux system administration, container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes, and scripting languages such as Python and Bash are required. Additional expertise in monitoring and logging tools like CheckMK and Splunk will be highly valued. The candidate should demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies independently, possess analytical and reliable working habits, and communicate effectively in both German and English. Responsibilities Take ownership of the operation, development, and optimization of existing infrastructures, emphasizing DevOps automation and Infrastructure-as-Code approaches.Manage and enhance the Continuous Delivery pipelines for web applications, including maintaining and improving GitLab-CI pipelines and deployment procedures.Collaborate with software developers to provide DevOps expertise, helping to minimize development-to-production cycle times and facilitate smooth deployment processes.Monitor the ongoing operation of web applications, ensuring system stability, security, and performance.Support patch management and vulnerability mitigation processes for web application components, ensuring compliance with security standards.Contribute to the configuration and management of web server environments, including Nginx and database systems.Implement and maintain containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes, supporting scalable and resilient infrastructure.Engage in continuous learning to stay updated with emerging DevOps tools and practices, integrating new solutions into existing workflows.
