Description

Annapolis Junction, MD; Washington, DC; or Reston, VA area preferred (telework is allowed) We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to support the modernization and deployment of a critical government information system. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines, Nexus Repository management, and building and maintaining Apache Solr clusters with Zookeeper in production environments. You will be responsible for automating deployment processes, managing artifact repositories, and orchestrating infrastructure upgrades across Windows Server environments while planning the migration path to AWS cloud infrastructure. Strong expertise in Windows Server administration, AWS cloud services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudFormation/Terraform), and infrastructure-as-code practices are essential. Experience with containerization strategies for Java applications, configuration management tools, and implementing security controls in both on-premises VMware and cloud environments is highly valued. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for 4 years of experience and a master's degree may be substituted for 6 years of experience.
