About the Role Every product team at Genius AI builds on the App Platform, and right now, the App Platform is being rebuilt to keep pace with and match the ambition of what we're shipping. As Staff Frontend Engineer, you'll own the technical direction of the web platform: the shared UI frameworks, component libraries, tooling, and release infrastructure that determine how fast every other team can move. This isn't a feature role; it's a force multiplier role. The person in this seat will set a new standard for what great frontend engineering looks like at Genius AI, embed AI-powered development practices across the org, and raise the ceiling on what's buildable. If the platform you design works well, dozens of engineers ship faster, break less, and spend more time on the work that actually matters. You must be commutable to our NYC office and will operate in a hybrid environment. We default to being in-office 3–4 days per week with required attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays. What You'll Do Architect and drive the development of scalable, reusable frontend components and shared libraries that every product team at Genius AI builds on top ofDefine the long-term technical direction of the web platform: framework decisions, architecture patterns, developer experience, and own those decisions through executionChampion AI-powered development tools across the engineering org: establish best practices for how engineers at Genius AI use AI tools and set the standard for what AI-assisted frontend engineering looks like in productionOwn frontend tooling, build pipelines, and developer workflows end to end, with a relentless focus on increasing velocity across teamsSet the bar for frontend best practices: code quality, accessibility, performance optimization, Core Web Vitals, design system consistency. And actively raise it across engineering through code reviews, architectural decisions, and cross-functional technical leadershipIdentify systemic problems before they become blockers and drive solutions that have broad impact across multiple teams, not just the one you're working with directlyPartner with product managers, designers, and engineering teams org-wide to deliver a cohesive, high-quality web experience across every surfaceWhat We're Looking For 7+ years of professional frontend engineering experience with a track record of leading high-impact technical work and owning platform-level decisions, not just shipping featuresDeep expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern frontend architecture, and a track record of using AI tooling to push the quality and velocity of that work beyond what's manually achievable at scaleDeep understanding of web performance and experience using AI-assisted tooling to diagnose and resolve performance issues faster than traditional debugging cycles allowYou use tools like Cursor and GitHub Copilot to architect, debug, and ship, and you've actively shaped how the teams around you adopt AI-assisted development practicesProven experience building and evolving component libraries, design systems, or shared UI frameworks that other engineers rely on. The base salary offered is dependent upon many factors including skills, experience, location, and education. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Additionally, this role is currently eligible to participate in Genius AI's equity plan as well as a range of health & wellbeing, retirement savings, and other benefits within our total rewards offering.
