Web developer responsibilities include building our website from concept all the way to completion from the bottom up, fashioning everything from the home page to site layout and function. Your primary task as a website developer will be to create reliable and high-performing web-based applications and services. You will create products that meet clients’ needs. The work can be varied, and you may have several projects running simultaneously. You’ll have regular meetings with clients to discuss their requirements and update them on progress. Responsibility Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practicesBuild and test Application Program Interfaces (APIs) for applications to exchange dataBuild and maintain databasesPlan and prototype new applicationsCreate website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practicesDesign the architecture of the components of an applicationMeet designers, developers and project staff for progress updatesResearch, incorporate and contribute to open-source projectsIntegrate data from various back-end services and databasesGather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needsDecide on the best technologies and languages for the projectGather requirements from clients and usersCreate and maintain software documentationTest sites and applications in different browsers and environmentsTest new features thoroughly to ensure they perform the correct task in all casesBe responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our clients sitesProblem-solveLearn and test new technologies, frameworks and languagesFix bugs in existing projectsRun performance benchmarking testsStay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activitiesReview colleagues’ codeCooperate with web designers to match visual design intentDesign information architecture within an application or website. Qualifications Proven working experience in web programmingTop-notch programming skills and in-depth knowledge of modern HTML/CSSFamiliarity with at least one of the following programming languages: PHP, ASP.NET, Javascript or Ruby on RailsA solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practicesAdequate knowledge of relational database systems, Object Oriented Programming and web application developmentHands-on experience with network diagnostics, network analytics toolsBasic knowledge of Search Engine Optimization processAggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skillsStrong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumenAbility to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.BS in computer science or a related field Working with SI ICT SI ICT is a fast growing IT and Digital Consultancy company that provides solutions across multiple sectors.
