About The Role We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer (m/w/d) to join our dynamic IT team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation, continuous improvement, and automation of our web-based applications and infrastructure. As a DevOps Engineer, you will collaborate closely with software developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to implement and maintain robust, scalable, and secure web solutions. Your expertise will contribute to optimizing deployment pipelines, automating infrastructure management, and supporting the ongoing stability and security of our digital services. The ideal candidate is proactive, innovative, and eager to work in a fast-paced environment where technology and teamwork drive success. Qualifications The successful candidate will possess a relevant university degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable field, or demonstrate equivalent professional experience. You should have practical knowledge of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools such as GitLab CI, Ansible, or similar technologies. Experience with Java-based web applications, Nginx configuration as a reverse proxy and load balancer, and familiarity with relational databases like Oracle and PostgreSQL are advantageous. Proficiency in Linux environments, containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and scripting languages including Python and Bash are essential. Additional skills in monitoring and logging tools like CheckMK and Splunk will be considered a plus. We value candidates who show initiative, adaptability, and a strong desire to learn new technologies. Excellent communication skills in German and good command of English are required to succeed in this role. Responsibilities Take ownership of the operation, development, and optimization of existing infrastructure, applying DevOps automation strategies and Infrastructure-as-Code principles.Manage and enhance Continuous Delivery pipelines for web applications, including maintaining and improving GitLab-CI pipelines and deployment procedures.Collaborate with software developers to streamline development-to-production cycles, reducing turnaround times and increasing deployment efficiency.Support the ongoing operation of web applications, including patch management and vulnerability mitigation processes.Assist in configuring and maintaining web server environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.Automate routine tasks and infrastructure provisioning to improve operational reliability and scalability.Monitor system health and performance, proactively addressing issues and implementing improvements.Participate in cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that meet organizational needs.
