The Role
We are seeking a versatile Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team, focused on delivering mission-critical software to our defence, public safety, and national security customers.
You will install, configure, and deploy our software on secure, government-operated infrastructure, build robust containerized environments, and ensure every deployment complies with stringent security and operational standards.
Working closely with defence contractors, military personnel, and technical authorities, you will architect and deploy foundational infrastructure, implement secure containerized deployments, and stand up reliable production systems.
You will own the technical deployment process for our professional services team: setting deployment strategy, validating critical functionality, identifying infrastructure issues before they impact operations, and maintaining clear documentation of deployment processes.

Required Qualifications

Experience
Minimum of 7+ years of software deployment and infrastructure experience, preferably in defence or related industryA minimum of 3+ years of experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift)A minimum of 3+ years of experience with Linux server deployment and administrationDemonstrated experience deploying and securing production-level systems in government or enterprise environmentsDemonstrated experience leading customer-facing technical discovery sessions, including requirements gathering, solution scoping, and value-driven conversations that build customer trust and accelerate adoption
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of Linux server deployment, networking, logging, and troubleshooting tools (e.g., ssh, tcpdump, iproute2)Expertise with Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and hypervisors (e.g., KVM, VMware ESXi)Experience packaging, templating, and deploying applications with Helm charts for Kubernetes/OpenShiftIn-depth understanding of TLS, HTTP/2-3, and PKI integrationFamiliarity with enterprise hardware (servers, racks, storage) and production-level systemsWorking knowledge of identity and access management standards and protocols (e.g., OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SAML) and their role in securing deployed servicesKnowledge of supply chain security, government compliance standards, and authentication/authorization mechanismsStrong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiencesDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively across development teams and with customer stakeholdersStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deployment initiatives simultaneouslyProven ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and drive efficient resolution

What You’ll Do
Deployment Strategy and Planning
Partner with customers and internal teams to understand infrastructure requirements and develop comprehensive deployment strategies for the organizationCreate and maintain detailed deployment plans and documentation to ensure successful implementations across all customer environmentsDocument deployment approaches based on security assessments and regulatory requirementsAdvise on and implement infrastructure strategies and containerization frameworks across the entire platform
Software Deployment and Infrastructure
Travel to customer and partner sites to participate in requirements gathering, software deployment, deployment testing, and hands-on supportBuild and manage containerized applications using Docker, Docker Compose, and Kubernetes/OpenShiftDeploy, secure, and monitor Linux-based containerized applications, services, and machine learning models in both cloud-hosted and on-premise networksStreamline software installation processes, configurations, and documentation for repeatable deploymentsProvide regular status updates on deployment progress and system health metrics
Infrastructure Management and Security
Ensure all deployments meet strict government security and operational standardsImplement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover proceduresDiagnose and resolve technical infrastructure issues leveraging deep knowledge of Linux, networking, and security principlesProvide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing infrastructure upgradesChampion security standards and best practices across all deployment environments
Customer Support and Communication
Work directly with stakeholders, including defence contractors and military personnel, to ensure solutions align with operational requirementsParticipate actively in customer meetings, technical reviews, and deployment planning sessionsReview and provide detailed feedback on infrastructure requirements, specifications, and security documentsCustomize software deployments to meet unique customer operational needsCommunicate deployment results and system metrics to stakeholders at all levels
