Software Engineer - Operations Systems & AI Automation
Location: Connecticut (On-Site)
Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and enhance the systems that support operations, inventory, logistics, maintenance, reporting, and business analytics.
This individual will work directly with operational leaders to streamline processes, replace manual workflows, and develop scalable software solutions that improve efficiency and decision-making across the business.
This is an opportunity to own projects from concept through deployment while leveraging automation and AI technologies to solve real-world operational challenges.
What You'll Do
Build and maintain internal business applications and operational systemsGather requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into technical solutionsDevelop tools for inventory management, production planning, job costing, and reportingCreate dashboards, alerts, and analytics that improve visibility across the organizationBuild workflow automation and AI-powered solutions, including OCR and document processingDevelop applications that support logistics, dispatch, maintenance, and asset managementIntegrate data from multiple systems to improve reporting and decision-makingIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology and automation
What You'll Bring
3+ years of software engineering experienceStrong full-stack development skillsExperience with modern backend technologies, relational databases, and APIsExperience building applications from concept through deploymentAbility to work directly with non-technical stakeholdersStrong communication and problem-solving skillsComfortable operating independently and taking ownership of projects
AI & Automation Experience
Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft AI, or similar technologiesOCR and document-processing experienceWorkflow automation experienceExposure to forecasting, machine learning, or predictive analyticsUnderstanding of AI reliability and validation practices
