We are looking for a Software Development Engineer III to join our Enabling Functions - Colleague technology team, which plays a key role in delivering intuitive, reliable, and innovative solutions for our 300,000+ colleagues globally.
As a Software Development Engineer III, you’ll lead the design and implementation of strategic systems that enable our HR, Payroll, Learning & Development, and Workforce Management platforms – ensuring every colleague experience is simple, efficient, and empowering.
You will be responsible for
Using your in-depth knowledge of TypeScript, React, and the ecosystem of tools to develop and implement scalable frontend systems - including a high-level understanding of common DevOps platformsProfiling and optimising the codeApplying understanding of cohesion and architectural principles to create well-structured, maintainable softwareIdentifying patterns in code and refactoring the code towards them where it increases understanding and/or maintainability with minimal guidanceTranslating requirements into tasks & codeDeveloping high-quality code that can lead to rapid delivery, ruthlessly pursuing continuous integration and delivery - CI/CDCommitting code early and often, demonstrating understanding of version control & branching strategiesAutomating everything by defaultWriting secure code by default and following the secure coding policiesWriting maintainable code and observing basic hygiene practicesFollowing the best practices of continuous BDD/TDD/Performance/Security/Smoke testingWorking effectively with product stakeholders to communicate and translate needs into product improvementsContributing to group discussions on system design and understanding the domain well enough to work with Product Managers to drive valueSupporting production systems, resolving incidents and performing root cause analysisDebugging/finding complex problems and supporting/maintaining the software solutionSharing knowledge with the wider engineering communityProducing proof of concepts and conducting research to evaluate new solutions

You will demonstrate experience with different platforms and technologies.
We expect to see some or all of the following:
8+ years of commercial experience as a Frontend Software DeveloperBest practices regarding all aspects of web development, including design, semantic HTML markup, CSS, TypeScript, and related technologiesExposure to a variety of JavaScript frameworks and libraries such as: React, Redux, React-Router and testing with React Testing Library Jest, Cypress, Playwright, Jasmine, Enzyme, and Mocha.Awareness and practice of UI performance best practicesUnderstanding and exposure to integrating REST API endpointsStrong experience and understanding of industry standard web accessibility, web design & usability, to support sites cross browser/platform devices with mobile-first approachA desire to write readable, maintainable, modular, and extendable codeExposure to the DevOps modelExperience in Lean and Agile environments and understanding of principles behind methodologies such as: BDD, ATDD, and TDD

Knowledge of Micro Frontends and Next.jsFamiliarity with managed QA processesBringing multiple viewport, responsive and adaptive web designs to lifeDeveloping web applications within the constraints of "non-standard" devices
